Africa mapped: how Europe drew a continent
As European powers colonialised Africa, they brought cartographers too, keen to picture the "new" continent. These maps, exhibited as part of an exhibition at Princeton University (via Retronaut), show how the West's view of Africa changed, from the early work of a German professor through to days of the British Empire
