Common Name Lawrence's Coelogyne [English Orchid Enthusiast 1800's]

Flower Size to 4" [10 cm]

This is a medium sized, cool to warm growing, epiphytic species that is found in the Himalayas and Vietnam in primary montane forests at moderate elevations with ovoid-oblong pseudobulbs carrying 2, lanceolate, broad, plicate, 8 nerved, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, openly grooved petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall through spring on a 10" [25 cm] long, arching, terminal scape arising on a mature pseudobulb with waxy, fragrant sweet floral scented , long-lasting, solitary successive opening flowers [up to 6] held just above the leaves.
