Church of the Big Wood is excited to invite you to participate in our annual “Fall Focus,” this year entitled The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. Named after a book by well-known pastor and author John Mark Comer, this five-week study addresses what Comer sees as one of the greatest threats to our spiritual lives: hurry. Instead of allowing our calendars and screens to control our lives, Jesus offers us a new rhythm of life, overflowing with grace, peace, and beauty.

Our study this year will involve three coordinated parts:

1. Sunday Morning Messages: Our sermons on Sunday morning will challenge us to make our walks with Jesus central to our lives, instead of allowing the stuff of our world to crowd Him out.   

1. Reading the Book: We have purchased copies of The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry (available 9/17/23) which we are encouraging everyone read in parallel with the sermon series.     

2.  Small Group Study: Our church's small groups will be studying the Sunday morning passage using a RightNow Media video series and study guide. If you are not a member of a group, we hope to have a number of them available to join in the coming weeks.

While you are encouraged to join one of our small groups, access to all the material is available to individuals, and you are welcome to participate by doing the study on your own.
