Boluochia is an Opposite Bird from the Jiufotang Formation of Liaoning, China, living about 120 million years ago in the Aptian age of the Early Cretaceous. It may have been closely related to Longipteryx, and it was similar to the unofficially named “Camptodontus” yangi in terms of having a very long, narrow snout and large hooked teeth. It differed from these other birds in its feet, which had a separated outer toe during perching. It was poorly preserved, which makes discussing any other characteristics of this genus difficult. It had a wingspan of 40 centimeters and a body length of about 20 centimeters. It may have been a fisher, like Longipteryx, but it’s hard to tell.
