Syria to Export Fruits and Vegetables to Russia

Russia is ready to import products from Syria on a permanent basis; fruit and vegetables may start appearing on Russian shelves, partially replacing forbidden Turkish products.
Syria may soon start exporting its fruit and vegetables to Russia on a permanent basis. These may partially replace Turkish products which Russia has banned in line with sanctions, the Russian newspaper Kommersant reported.
Komemrsant quoted Aslan Panesh, head of the Russian company Adyg-Yurak, as saying that his company is currently negotiating the sale of Syrian fruit and vegetables to an array of Russian food retailers. At the same time, he assured that Syria is due to begin the production of modern packaging material before the end of this year.
