An official statement from the Tenpin Bowling Federation (I) stated that this was the second consecutive year that Pratima was making the cut at the World Cup and remains the only Indian woman to have done so in Tenpin bowling history.

With only the last spot up for grabs, Pratima put in a stellar performance to nose ahead of three others, Felicia Wong of Canada, Julieanne Mollet of New Zealand and Pritta Kantola of Finland, by 2, 9 and 11 pins respectively.

In the final qualifying round consisting of five games, Pratima began badly notching just 150 before rallying to score 201, 202, 204 and 204 in the next four outings to snuff out the opposition.

However in the the men’s category, Dilbir Singh of India had a poor run in the tournament and finished 72nd in a field of 91 with an average of 183.30.

The top 24 bowlers will bowl eight games on Friday and the field will be cut to top eight.
