Looks like this sleep scientist might have sleep apnea! It’s a bit embarrassing for someone who is expected to be the epitome of sleep health, but after gaining weight during COVID and thereafter, I recently started snoring. I also noticed that my deep sleep and REM were significantly reduced. At the time, I was only tracking on my Apple Watch running SleepSpace and ŌURA Ring. I soon listened back to my snoring using SleepSpace's snore recorder and started to believe I might have a serious condition. But my wearables weren't giving me the granular data I needed to understand what to do next. Welcome BodiMetrics's Circul+ Smart Ring... 1. I was able to extract granular SpO2 data from the Circul+, which was more informative than any other smart ring available on the market. 2. See below tutorials where I describe how this smart ring works to be highly accurate and comfortable throughout the night. 3. Get $30 off this revolutionary technology through a collaboration that SleepSpace has with Circul+. Enter code <sleepspace10> at checkout. In this tutorial, I use Circul+ over 3 nights to evaluate my breathing. Click below to learn what I discovered about how I can improve my sleep through better breathing. Follow me on my journey as I use new cutting edge methods to diagnose my potential sleep apnea and improve my night-time breathing. Next up I will be experimenting with Wesper's innovative solution for getting a diagnosis. https://lnkd.in/eXxQ3aDw #sleep #health #covid #collaboration #technology #data #breathe
I admire you for delving so deeply into your possible sleep apnea, Daniel Gartenberg PhD and doing these experiments. Wesper sent me some patches last year, which were so easy to use. Eager to hear how you like them. Wearing the patches revealed that had some minor issues with my own breathing which I suspect could be linked with perimenopause.
How do I get this for my patients
Interesting review and insight.

11moAs a veteran in the field of home sleep assessments and been part of the development and commercialization team for FDA-approved home sleep studies equipment, I wanted to offer some insights regarding your post. I appreciate your willingness to share your personal journey and your dedication to sleep health. It's important to acknowledge that home analysis using non-FDA approved equipment can serve as a valuable first step in understanding sleep patterns and identifying potential issues. These initial observations can help raise awareness and prompt individuals to seek further professional medical advice for accurate diagnosis and treatment. However, it's crucial to approach self-diagnosis with caution, recognizing the limitations of consumer wearables like the Apple Watch and ŌURA Ring. While they can provide useful insights, they should not be considered as definitive diagnostic tools for sleep disorders.it's essential to emphasize the importance of seeking professional medical advice beyond initial self-analysis. While collaborations with companies can be mentioned, it's vital to clarify that any discounts offered should not be misconstrued as a substitute for professional medical advice or a guarantee of accurate diagnosis.
