YouTube has blocked for good the account of the TV channel "Tsargrad"of a billionaire from Russia Konstantin Malofeev, who finances terrorists in the Donbass.

The channel reported about it on the official site.

According to Google, the account was blocked due to a violation of "export laws".

For her part, the resource's editor-in-chief, Daryna Tokareva, said that the editorial office had not received any warnings from YouTube, so the editorial office would go to court over the blockade.

"We have not received any warnings, messages or strikes from YouTube. Moreover, the administration of the service still does not explain the reasons for the blockade. They simply do not contact us, so we plan to resolve the conflict in court. The lawsuit will be prepared by our lawyer. I will add that no matter what pressure is put on the channel, we will not stop telling the truth", - Tokareva emphasized.

What is known

  • The channel's owner, Russian businessman Konstantin Malofeev, is on international sanctions lists for informational involvement in the occupation of Crimea and sponsorship of pro-Russian terrorist groups in eastern Ukraine.
  • The content of the blocked channel was also relevant and promoted aggression against Ukraine. He also regularly disseminated various conspiracy theories. In addition, the channel made a "list of Russophobes of the year".
  • YouTube has previously blocked Russian propaganda media channels. In 2018, the account of the pro-government RIA FAN was blocked, in May 2020 the accounts of the Crimea 24 channel, Anna News and News-Front were deleted.
