"Failed to load game settings" error on Baseplate

When I create a new “Baseplate” file, it shows a “Failed to load game settings” error.

This also occurs if I “edit” an uncopylocked game from the website, such as Doomspire Brickbattle.

This makes some sense. It’s been this way for a while when editing uncopylocked games, but it shouldn’t be showing an error whenever you create a new Baseplate in Roblox Studio.

I reckon this has something to do with recent game settings UI changes?

Oh well. Other than this minor annoyance, I can do my experiments as normal.

Reproduction Steps for Baseplate

  1. Open Roblox Studio.
  2. Click on the New button.
  3. Click Baseplate.

Reproduction Steps for Uncopylocked Game

  1. Find an uncopylocked game’s page. Doomspire Brickbattle is one such game.

  2. Click on the ellipsis, and then click Edit.

It started happening today for me too, it’s getting very annoying. :angst:

This has been happening since around 16:00 GMT for me in the United Kingdom.
Can someone else who has this error please try opening a Team Create session on a place with Team Create already enabled and tell me if their Roblox Studio instance crashes?
I am just wondering if the two problems are mutually inclusive.

I’ve been getting the same bug now. I tried logging out and back in again, but I simply got an error about an untrusted certificate. Now I tried reinstalling Roblox (and the Studio) but the progress bar is staying the place for the last 10 minutes.Capture
Edit: It completed the download successfully, but I no longer got the error. Probably because I pressed “Yes” for the certificate popup. Unfortunately, I still get the same baseplate error.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I have tried to publish the baseplate anyway, to test if the error disappeared, but it still is. It also didn’t give me the option to publish it as a group game (and I’m in 3 groups where I have permission to publish games)

Basically, I cannot publish games in groups, and the “Unable to load universe. Permission denied” error appears in all my games previously created, and in which I try to create now.
I literally can’t work.

i have the same issue as well. really the only fix i found for this issue was that i published a place, closed it and then re-opened it again. then it works just fine without the “failed to load game settings” error. loading an existing published game also works fine for me.

Seems to be affecting all uncopylocked games. This error doesn’t really mean anything, it’s just having to dismiss it every time I want to create a new file is getting pretty infuriating at this point

Happening again. Also can’t save, publish or do any changes in Team Create. I usually lose connection shortly after.

I am experiencing this issue as well, is roblox aware of this / working on a fix for this issue?

Note that I only notice this when opening up the roblox baseplate, and not team-create games, but there are some published games that I have (And I haven’t opened em’ in a while) that don’t use team create, that might be affected by this as well.

Same here! It doesn’t let me in Baseplate either…

This is also currently happening to me when I try to open a new baseplate.
Why would I get a permission denied to open up a place?

Edit:
This is happening when I open any studio template. I asked some of my friends to try opening it on their account, and it’s failing for them as well.
This seems to be affecting everyone I know so far.

Same to me, some time ago I could do everything. Now I can’t even move the camera. I guess I’ll wait…

I have been away from Studio for a while and now I am experiencing this too, on my games and, new, empty baseplates.

Having the same problem now.
It doesn’t show when I open an existing game, only when I open a new place.

This has been happening to me since yesterday, and occurs in everything I try to open. However, studio gets all messed up and I can’t really open or do anything.
I also get way more details…

I am using Windows 10, if that helps.

We have flipped a setting which was causing this to appear. Can anyone confirm if this is still happening?
