nrf9160 DK current measurement clarification. Measuring 40uA in PSM mode instead of 4uA.

Hi there, we are currently developing on both the nrf5340 and nrf9160 DK's. Both boards are intended to run at 3.6V using the PPK 2.

Recently however, we ran into an issue on the nrf5340 documented here. As a consequence, we added a short between VDD_nRF and VIO_REF in order to measure 4uA in low power modem (System off).

On the nrf9160, we also shorted VDD_nRF and VIO_REF so that we can run the entire board at 3.6V. We also flipped SW9 in the 3V position.

However, with the short on the nrf9160 in, we measure 40uA in the system off low power mode, instead of the expected 4uA. When we remove the short, we measure 4uA as expected. If the short is removed however, the board is running at 3V and we need to board running at 3.6V. Can you please advise which setup to use as to ensure that we get an accurate power measurement?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Frikkie
