I tend to be a total junkie when it comes to all things Julie Huss. I love the wow factor in her stories, which tend to be smoking hot, and I can’t help but love her mysterious and sexy alphas and heroines in her tales. This is a much more light-hearted approach to her usual dark writing style. Mr. Perfect is on the sillier side of funny, and my goodness, does Huss sure know how to make me blush!

Seven story slides? You got it! Butter? Well… The story hinged almost to the point of ridiculous but not quite over the top. It was a very racy read, and it was definitely entertaining– at least in the beginning. As the storyline transitioned, it just gave me a bit of whiplash as it went from fun and steamy, to the ‘big reveal’, to complete radio silence, and then to ‘L’ word in sixty seconds flat. Somewhere along the way, I kind of lost interest in Mac and Ellie’s relationship. I guess I’m a bit thrown by this, because usually Huss has me hanging right on the edge of my seat in anticipation throughout all of her stories.

Ellie’s character came across as really ditzy, and she lived in a dream world with such a lack of reality. She appeared to be straight-laced and unhappy working in her dead-end job as a celebrity consultant for Stonewall Entertainment, but she really wasn’t either of these at all. Her perception of everything in her life seemed so totally off. When McAllister or ‘Mac’, took over and became her new boss, he was determined to push Ellie to all of her limits. I could see why he would be intrigued by her, but I didn’t really feel their passion or connection to each other. Mac was definitely the strong and demanding alpha and had endearing qualities that won me over, but Ellie’s character was all over the place and confusing to me and just didn’t really seem like a good fit for him.

The writing was good, and the storyline itself was interesting, albeit a little choppy. I have to give lots of credit to Huss for changing up her writing style with her fun and witty humor. This is the first book in this Misters Series, but it can also be read as a standalone. There is an underlying mysterious storyline for these ‘Misters’ and their past together, which definitely piques my interest as well. So, although this isn’t my favorite of Huss’s books, I could still recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, quick, and super steamy read!
