Split musician Luka Nižetić is celebrating the end of isolation with a new single and music video, which recently hit the local airwaves under the name "Ae".

"After 19 years and my song 'Ludi grade', which I performed on 'Melodies of the Croatian Adriatic', I can happily reveal that I have a song about Split again, which I can thank the author tandem Marij and Branimir Mihaljević. A lot has already been said, written and sung about Split, so I would be glad if this song also took root among all those who have a heart for 'The craziest city in the world,'" reveals Luka Nižetić. He adds that Mario Mihaljević perfectly recognized the sensibility of Split, bringing an original, credible and witty text on the basis of which it was not difficult for Branimir Mihaljević to write a real southern and dance melody.

"In order to add a note of the authentic sound of the Mediterranean, we hosted the members of the Klapa Kampanel, with whom I had the opportunity to collaborate in 2010 on the song 'Život curi' for the Split Festival. My intention with the song 'Ae' was to return to Prokurative again after ten years, but as the situation with the corona disrupted everyone's plans and put us in a state of uncertainty, in the end I decided to speed up its release,' reveals the musician.

Luka admits that the title of the song was imposed from the text where the choice fell on the word 'Ae', because it is a unique Split saying that, depending on the context in which the interlocutors are, the tonality and gesticulation during pronunciation, can represent different emotional and communicative reactions - from surprise, confirmation, elation, indifference or question, which certainly puts it in one of the series of Dalmatian phenomena.

The song is accompanied by an original and technically demanding video, which is due to the talented director of the younger generation, Dinko Šimac, who talks about the idea of the video:

'I decided to take Luka through some of the recognizable video sequences from the rich history of Split's musical creativity. We reincarnated various videos of famous musicians such as Dino Dvornik, Magazin and Severina and put Luka in their place, trying through his gag and outfit, as well as additional animation, to be as close to the original as possible", reveals Šimac. Luka is normally recognized as a musician whose songs mostly cure nostalgia for summer, and this track was characterized by critics as the successor to last year's hit "Ludilo brale", which has been viewed two million times on the YouTube channel.
