Shela Women’s Association is a unique place in Lamu, Kenya where TVE passengers can connect with this local community of women over food. It’s a win-win situation! Passengers can experience the local culture through food and connect with the community, while the women of Shela are able to create income through tourism.
This type of symbiotic relationship is what makes traveling with The Village Experience unique! The women are often hired for catering events, weddings, and more locally.
