For a few issues of Les Davis' "The Wrapper" magazine I have been putting together an "eye candy" one page addition showing vintage Non-Sports wrappers. I thought it might be nice to cross-promote the magazine and this site by posting color images of the wrappers here. I will do this only after the issues are in the hands of the readership. I'm using this as kind of a bulletin board and am not looking for feedback on this thread. Here's a link to "The Wrapper" magazine:http://www.thewrappermagazine.com/ Anyone not signed up is missing out. - Jack J. ******************************************************************************** THE WRAPPER #309 - Page 61 ******************************************************************************** THE WRAPPER #311 - Pages 66 &67 ********************************************************************************** THE WRAPPER #312 - Page 65 ************************************************************************************ THE WRAPPER #313 - Page 41

Thanks, Jack! I'd never seen a color image of the Reedy's wrapper before. It must have had extremely limited distribution; in 26 years of collecting, I've only ever seen four cards from that set come up for sale. The Blatz wrapper has to be one of the most detailed from that era. All those fine lines!

There is/was a group of eleven in a large group maybe in Heritage either that just ended or is on now I think. One of the reasons I hate groups. I need none of the huge percentage of the group and it's not worth it to buy the group for just these eleven cards.

THE WRAPPER #318 - Page 44"ONE-OFFS" WRAPPERS The above "Flag Series" wrapper is the product of a little Photoshop magic by Todd Riley. Here's the original. Thankfully, the bugs liked the taste of plain paper over that with ink on it. - Jack J.

There isnβt anything that I donβt love about early R cards. That Reedy Gum Wrapper is stellar. Great stuff Jack. Always impressed with your Wrapper collection. Thanks for posting.

Daniel - Thanks for your kind words. I must confess, while most of the wrappers I show are from my collection, a few are not. The R52 Baltimore Gum Flags of the Nations (Flag Series) is one example that I would dearly love to have. The Texas John Slaughter is another that is high on my want list. - Jack J.

That Flag Gum wrapper reminds me of the Odd Rods pack I won in auction. I loved that pack... until a giant Florida cockroach smelled the decades old gum inside and ate through the wrapper to get at it. I got my revenge though. (I know for a fact that gum tasted AWFUL!)
