Steam Data Version is different from PC Xbox Gamepass

I’m on Steam Version of Forza Horizon 5, after updating to the latest version to 642.644 Data Version 2 (as seen in settings → Extras → Version Info) my EventLab won’t load, Rivals won’t show up, I can’t join my friend (PC Xbox Gamepass User) and the pop up said different version from the leader.

After checking my friend Version it says the same version but the Data Version is “3” rather than “2” on my side. I already verify the files in Steam but still the same, already restart the game a couple times (even restart my PC) still doesn’t change anything.

Sidenote:

  • after updating my friend also experienced the bug with the eventlab and rival wont show up, but after closing the game the Xbox App updates the game and it works.
  • My other friend that use Steam also experiencing the same thing as me with the same Data Version: “2”

I have the same problem, but I am on OG Xbox One, and my friend is on Xbox series X. He has data version 3, I have data version 2 and we can’t get to convoy together cause it says it’s not matching.

I also can’t see Rivals events in Festival Playlist and Eventlabs have no names

Same problem for me, cannot play with my friend (Microsoft store/Steam) crossplay…

Today i check the data build version and it is finally a “Data version 3” (Steam) so now Xbox/MS Store and Steam have same versions.
Game has no update, but version changed haha.
So problem seems to be fixed now! :slight_smile:

Lucky for you :D, but mine still stuck at Data Version: 2 :((

Two different friends on Xbox one have “data version 2”, mine has ver 3. Been two days and we all had updates.

Does anybody know how to fix it😭

Still problem. Microsoft dont fixed… but seems only low % of steam players have this ver sytuation… my friends from steam play normal… dont mention xbox friends… whats wrong with this game…

How, I tried everything (including your solution), but I didn’t solve anything. Can’t play with my friend, we are both on Xbox :frowning:

Hey guys I found the solution for me, I deleted the “ForzaHorizon5” file in C:Users/(username)/AppData/Local/ForzaHorizon5 (make sure to turn on Hidden Items in View) and launch Forza Horizon 5 and Start Game, after loading is done quit the game let Steam sync and launch the game again it should be Data Version 3 now.

if it doesn’t work, other solution method I saw after you tried all the above is to start the game by joining your friend from Xbox App (not Xbox Game Bar)

I have the same issue “version with convoy leader” here, but on console (XBSX). I tried play with friends from XBSS and cloud. No matter who is the leader, we had the same issue.
