WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 16 Wake Forest (6-1-0) women's soccer team took a season-high 31 shots, including 12 shots on goal, to easily defeat No. 22 Cal State Fullerton (4-3-0) 3-0 on a hot Sunday afternoon at Spry Stadium.

"This was definitely our best weekend of the season so far with our mentality," head coach Tony da Luz said. "There was a higher competitive mentality this weekend. We created a lot of good chances today and really dominated the game against a good team. It's encouraging that we put together quality games on both Friday and Sunday."

The Deacons controlled the game from the beginning, taking 31 shots, including 16 in the first half. Cal State Fullerton only managed eight shots in the game. Wake Forest had a season-high 12 corner kicks, compared to just two for the Titans.

"I loved the production we had, but I wish we had of executed a little better," da Luz said. "It would have been nice to score off of one of the 12 corners. It was a really good effort from everybody."

Junior goalkeeper Laura Morse recorded her second consecutive shut out. The shut out marked the fifth time this season that Wake Forest had not allowed a goal in a game. Morse made two saves in the contest.

"Laura communicated very well with her team throughout the weekend," da Luz added. "She played very well in both games this weekend."

Both teams had quality scoring opportunities in the early portion of the game. In the second minute, junior forward Jill Hutchinson attempted a header and the Fullerton keeper making a leap save, sending the ball just over the goal.

The Titans had their best chance of the game in the 18th minute. Off a throw in, Jackie Hovda had a point blank look at the goal as the ball found her foot from six yards out. Morse made a great save on the Hovda shot to keep the game tied at zero.

Wake Forest struck first in the 38th minute. Camelyn Dillon sent a cross into the six-yard box that was mishandled by the keeper. Bianca D'Agostino found the loose ball and fired a shot from seven yards out that found the left side of the net. The goal was D'Agostino's second of the weekend, both serving as the game-winning tally.

Allie Sadow scored her fifth goal of 2008 at the 61:03 mark. Sadow attempted a shot from in front of the net, 17 yards out that beat the keeper on the left side.

Sarah Winslow closed out the scoring a little over two minutes later, tallying her fourth goal of the year. Eleanor Davidson played a cross to Winslow. Winslow's shot from eight yards out hit off the bottom of the cross bar and went into the net.

Four Deacons were named to the all-tournament team as D'Agostino, Dillon, Bess Harrington and Morse earned all-tournament honors.

In the first game of the day, Virginia Tech used five second half goals to defeat Charlotte 5-1.

Wake Forest is back in action on Friday as it hosts UNC Greensboro at Spry Stadium. First touch is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET).
