QUICK HITS
- Duke Baseball has recorded 171 of its 246 runs this season from the fourth to eighth innings. That number accounts for 69.5% of the Blue Devils' runs this season.
- The Blue Devils have recorded 90 two-out RBIs this season, accounting for 36.5% of the runs scored this season. Graduate transfer Giovanni DiGiacomo leads the team with 12 two-outs RBI, followed closely by junior Jay Beshears with 11.
- Freshman lefty James Tallon continues to slam the door on opponents this season, collecting his fifth save of the campaign on Tuesday in Lynchburg, Va. His five career saves move him into a tie for 22nd all-time in program history and he is on pace to break the single season mark of 11 set by Kenny Koplove in 2015.
- Sophomore Alex Mooney has been on fire during the first half of the 2023 season, leading the team at the plate at a .353 clip. On Sunday, Mooney tallied his 12th multi-hit game of the season, the most by any Blue Devil this year.
- Junior Jay Beshears continues to prove why he was named as an impact transfer for the 2023 season, tallying his 12th multi-RBI game on Saturday against Pittsburgh. The Naples, Fla., product is clear of Alex Stone and Alex Mooney who have seven multi-RBI contests this season.
