Dymo Check Environment Failed Error
If an Elixir error message "Check Environment Failed" pops up when trying to print a label please try the following:
-
Ensure you have installed Dymo Connect
-
Try restarting your computer
-
Ensure you can print a label manually from the Dymo Connect software on your computer. This validates your label printer is connected and operational.
If the Dymo Connect software cannot print a label, this indicates there is a hardware or computer issue. Please contact your IT Support to get this operational.
Elixir does not provide hardware support. -
Go through the following steps:
Windows PC
Ensure the Dymo Connect Web Service is running as (Administrator) not (User).
Go to the bottom right-hand corner of your screen beside the time and locate the Dymo icon. You may need to click on the up arrow ^
to Show Hidden Icons.
If it says (User) as per the picture above, complete the following steps:
-
Right Click on the Dymo icon and choose the option “Exit”. You should see the Dymo icon disappear.
-
Open your Start Menu and type “Dymo Connect Web Service”. This should search and locate the “Dymo Connect Web Service” app.
Warning
Ensure you have located Dymo Connect Web Service. Not just Dymo Connect.
-
Once “Dymo Connect Web Service” is selected, click “Run as administrator” in the sub-menu.
-
Hover over the Dymo icon at the bottom right corner of your screen again and ensure it says (Administrator) at the end.
-
Refresh the Elixir web page you have opened and retry printing a label.
Tip
If your Dymo label printer continues to bring up an error message, try the following advanced instructions. You may require assistance from your IT Support organisation.
Enable the web service to always load as Administrator
Locate the Dymo Web Service exe file, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\DYMO\DYMO Connect\DYMO.WebApi.Win.Host.exe
