There are no surprises with how the latest 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman looks, but its interiors definitely pack an updated punch. The new version brings in turbocharged four-cylinder engines replacing the six-cylinder units. Its base version boasts an impression 2.0 liter with 300 horsepower (220 kilowatts) and 280 pound-feet, while the upgraded S model features an even better 2.5-liter delivering 350 horsepower. Other updates include an optimized chassis with firmer springs and stabilizers in addition to re-tuned shock absorbers. The steering was also improved and is now 10 percent more direct, with wide rear wheels for improved stability. The car’s interior got a small face lift with new air vents, a 918-Spyder-inspired steering wheel design and the standard Porsche Communication Management (PCM). An extra upgrade at an additional cost is the Connect module which includes the Porsche Car Connect, Apple CarPlay and a USB port. Another package offers buyers the navigation module that includes voice control and real-time traffic information. The car is available for pre-order and will ship out to European drivers late September and US drivers late November.
