Nagi, Bachira, and Isagi Team Up
I thought Isagi would end up joining Reo and Nagi’s 3-man cell for the second selection.
I was surprised when Bachira showed up and Isagi almost seemed annoyed. Would have loved to see Chigiri and/or Kunigami enter the room at that moment as well just for more added tension – but maybe I’m just being a bit too dramatic.
Since Nagi’s awakening, he’s been relying less on Reo and more on his own instincts – which is great for his own personal development! However, it appears Reo isn’t too happy that his personal pet now has a mind of his own.
I mean…did anybody else laugh when the trippy music started playing and Nagi just ditched not only his friend, but the very person who got him into soccer for somebody he just met two days ago?
There’s no guarantee Zantetsu, Igarashi, Imamura, Naruhaya, or any of the other scrubs are going to make it to the second selection round. I’m pretty sure Ego highlighting how tough the first challenge would be for those just coasting on the other teammates’ power was a nod to Team Z’s resident trash player, Kuon.
Will Chigiri or Kunigami Go Home?
My only concern going into the remaining rounds are the rules Ego has laid out.
Let’s say it is 3 v 3, and somehow Isagi’s 3-man cell wins.
It’s not that I don’t have faith in Isagi, but he may be overly confident right now and judging his opponents based on false pretenses. Nagi is an absolute weirdo off the field and a genius on it, so I think they’re jumping the gun a little bit believing Itoshi is the only viable opponent on that squad.
If Isagi’s team wins, they would most likely choose Itoshi because he doesn’t care who he ends up with, as long as he makes it to the u-20 playoffs with the national team members. What if in the next round, however, Chigiri and Kunigami’s squad is the only option to progress?
Let’s say they lose – would one of them be saddled with bad teammates and end up disqualified?
I know this challenge is a lot more forgiving than the other things Ego has been throwing at the boys. I really just hope the core players for Team Z don’t go home simply because circumstances got out of hand.
Other than that…I think I’m going to wrap it up here.
