IPNews-Monrovia-Liberia-18 November 2018: Reports emerging from the Smauel K. Doe sports complex in Paynesville speaks of an encounter between an Agent of the Executive Protection Service-EPS and another officer of the Arm forces of Liberia leading to the solider seriously injured.
According to our reporter covering today’s planned encounter between the warriors of Zinbawe and the Lone star of Liberia, the fracas ensued between the two state security officers when the EPS Officer attempted bringing aroung the main patch some unknown persons in violation of the rules set by the Liberian football Association that all person except state security assigned around the main patch be permitted too enter while others used the respective gates as indicated on their purchased tickets for entry into the SKD sports complex.
According to the report why the officer of the AFL attempted disallowing the EPS officer taking the unknown persons around the main patch, insults ensued and hell brook loose leaving the AFL officer serverely wounded and taken to local hospital for medical attention.
According to eyewitnesses, Some AFL soldiers came with a vehicle wanting to enter the stadium but were denied by the EPS currently assigned at the stadium due to lack of access Pass.
This situation quickly escalated in no time resulting to a serious riot among the Police Officers and the soldiers.
Interestingly, our sources confirmed that the AFL Soldiers wanted to disarm the EPS Officers which prompted the used of a fire arm allegedly leaving one AFL Soldier dead.
This latest development, has created serious fear among the ordinary fans wanting to watch Liberia’s game against Zimbabwe.
The status of the wounded AFL officer is still unknown up to press time. Investigation continues
