A GREAT TEACHER - TAKES ONE STEP BEYOND TEACHING Are you an innovative teacher? Try the Quiz below, to find the answer.

After giving a brief synopsis of how innovation evolved in the teaching profession, I being a teacher have posted this quiz below. A child spends most of his/her time in School and College. During this time they are supposed to shape their Character, Calibre and Knowledge. So, their Intellectual, Technical and Moral know-how has to grow and breed in School and College. Now the Input for the students’ thirst for all the above is the teachers’ lectures. In the past few decades, the teaching community has been practically researching on the thinking and absorbing skills of students. This has led to new innovative methods of teaching. This has made teaching professionals to think beyond the syllabus and extend the depth of the lecture beyond the four walls of a classroom. A teacher is no more meant for just lectures and paper corrections. They are expected to shift the student’s mind from theory to practice. Nowa-days the expected outcome from the student is researching and projecting new techniques. When it comes to innovative teaching the tool to be used is the teacher’s choice. Oral tools include novel lectures, messages from media which could be content 4

beyond the syllabus, intellectual games and so on. Electronic tools could be Electronic board, Prezi lectures & Video Lectures.A good teacher is not someone who just gives answers to his / her students, but one who understands the needs and challenges faced by every student and finds solutions to resolve the same. Answer the following questions and find out if you are an innovative teacher in the classroom. 1. Do you magnetize the students’ mind to your line of thinking within the first 5 minutes you enter the class. Yes/No 2. Do you break the silent observers (students) stare with a joke and relieve the academic tension. Yes/ No 3. Do you experiment and implement new tools for teaching every semester? Yes/No 4. Do you give special interesting assignments for slow learners? Yes/No 5. Do you extend your lecture beyond the syllabus? Yes/No 6. Do you always have a special agenda for advanced learners? Yes/No 7. Do you use property to explain your concepts? Yes/No 8. Is your class lecture ruminating to the student? Yes /No

9. Is your homework experimental to the student?Yes/No 10. Is your leave felt as a loss by the student? Yes/ No 11. Does your presence bring a sense of qualitative comfort to the student? Yes/No If your answer is yes for all the questions, than surely you are an innovator. If your answer is yes for at least 5 responses, your teaching is moving towards innovation. If it is less than 5, you need to follow the rest of the points. Teaching is a very noble profession and training

yourself to be an innovative teacher is even beyond. A teacher should not only move from place to place while lecturing but should also move the students’ mind towards innovation. If your students remember you as a teacher who could not be replicated in terms of teaching methodology then that is the biggest honour you could receive. In that way I am gifted.

Possessiveness – Is it a good or bad attribute ? Life is full of Nouns (feeling),Verbs (action), Adjectives (attribute of feeling) and Adverbs (circumstance). It is all in the way that we play with these components that our life is designed. The exertion of your rights on others around you because of your feeling of insecurity, hidden fear or lack of trust etc, leads to possessiveness. Possessiveness is taking for granted that one should listen to the other. We might have used this with someone in some walks of life. It is normally presumed that control leads to security and success. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. The person being dominated looses freedom and well-being, and so as a result searches for options to get released . This article tries to bring out the consequence of over possessiveness. As we know “too much of anything is

good for nothing”. The same way over possessiveness being a Noun leads to many Verbs. One P which is a Noun gives rise to 5 Ps’ which are Verbs. Possessiveness leads to Panic, Panic brings in Pessimism, Pessimism creates Problem, Problem takes the shape of Pain, Panic, Pessimism, Problem, Pain brings in Poison that destroys a happy life. So, possessiveness is not an attribute of security but a contribute to your destructivity.

A thought to think over A skip of a beat, could cause a rhythmic imbalance . A skip of a curve, could make your sketch imperfect. A skip of a shot ,could make your video incomplete. But a skip of a sound in pronunciation, could make you sound perfectly balanced and complete ! Fluent speech flows with stress, pause and rhythm. To make speech flow professionally the way we pronounce the end and beginning of some words really matter. This article is about the skipping of the sound t or d in pronuncuiation.

In a connected speech ,when the sounds /t/ or /d/ appear between two consonant sounds [in words next to each other], they can often disappear completely from pronunciation.[ Vowel sounds means a,e,i,o,u,sounds – consonants are other sounds other than a,e,i,o,u] . Now consider the folowing : This is the best lesson ever In this sentence best has a T- at the end of the word and the word lesson starts witht a consonant sound L so, it is pronounced as (This is the bes-lesson ever) The same way ..

There is just one solution. (There is jus-one solution ) That was a great feast. (That was a grea-feast) It is my bad luck. (It is my ba-luck ) This is a food court . (This is a foocourt ) You Need to speed up (You Nee- to speed up ) So think it over

Multilingualism: An important attribute to your success. Knowing a language is fun. Knowing many languages is lots of fun. Today we can access the whole world with a press of a mobile button in our hand. But the language we rely on for knowledge acquisition is only English. When a person speaks more than three languages, it is called Multilingualism. Knowing many languages makes a student look at multiple perspectives on issues at hand and enhances creativity. Multilingual students are found to be efficient communicators, better 6

analysts and problem solvers. The many languages you know, the more confident you become when communicating with people around the Globe. An extensive study conducted by a linguist at Dalhousie University, showed that multilingual children had stronger cognitive skills that helped them to attain better grades and reach higher levels of education faster than their monolingual classmates.Career opportunities are multiplied for a multilingual student as companies

that are involved in International business look to employ people who speak multiple languages to serve their foreign clients and contacts. Duolingo, Busuu, Babbel, Memrise, Triplingo, Mindsnacks, Leaf are some of the applications that help to learn a language online .I have learned Spanish and Swedish through the app -Duolingo. Duolingo is a premium language learning platform that includes a language learning website and an app. Digital Language Proficiency

Artificial and Human Intelligence : The Difference The curiosity and managerial demands of human brain has led it to formulate the human-machine parity – called Artificial General Intelligence (AI). In recent times AI has grown from data models for problem-solving to artificial neural networks, wherein it integrates with robotic controls to sense vision, speech and images of human concern.Researchers at MIT have developed a model for facial recognition that duplicates the neurological functions of the human brain. In the medicinal field AI enhances disease prevention and also treats patients when monitored by doctors. In foreign countries people tend to rely on machines for decision-making.1800-Flowers. com website is an example for it. 1800-Flowers.com is a gift shop

which uses AI to help recommend customers’ choose their gifts. It combines customer interaction with macro buying trends and consumer behavior and recommends personalized gifting ideas. Prof Nick Bostrom of Oxford University’s Future of Humanity Institute,in his recent book, “Super Intelligence”, suggests that there’s a 50 per cent chance that computers could reach humanlevel intelligence, as soon as 2050. The same study says there’s a 90 per cent chance of machine and human parity by 2075. Prof Bostrom describes himself as a supporter of AI because it could help tackle climate change, energy and new medicines, but he says it does have implications that are not properly understood.

In the near future, drones with built-in navigation systems will deliver goods in crowded cities. And smart home appliances will translate recipes, assemble ingredients in response to voice commands, and it might also serve gourmet meals. The merger of human intelligence and AI will turn computers into super-humans that far exceed human abilities. Human beings will continue to control everything until machines become self-referential systems. Ultimately, there are risks, no doubt. The question is whether the right safeguards can be built in to save humans from it.

Opportunity never waits for anyone Today three opportunities, Tomorrow one opportunity! Opportunity doesn’t wait for anyone, It fades away without notification. If there is something to do- then do it at once, Always look different at the world in front of you. When everyone walks on the line, You turn back to see history and take your own path.

Is there stage without work? Is there prize without hard work? Heading your waist at new destination, Keep your heel always at pace. Keep targeting like Arjun in mind, Do not give any excuses! Always think of the goal in front of you, Strive ,Strive till you succeed . People who have taken “The Road Not Taken”,

Behind them is the world today. Those who are waiting, Are still waiting ,waiting to see their way. So decide today , Start immediately . Always remember , Hard work never fails.
