We’re excited to announce the next phase in our partnership with Telford College, in Shropshire. Keele will soon have its own dedicated teaching space at the college’s Wellington campus, widening skills and education opportunities for local people. Professor Mark Ormerod, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost at Keele University, said: "Strong partnerships between further education and higher education are an essential part of the future educational landscape. Jacob is a firm believer in the importance of advocating for the increased support of students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and has dedicated much of his studies and career to the cause. In 2015, the British Medical Association (BMA) released a report on the diversity of the medical workforce that showed 20 per cent of secondary schools in the UK provided 80 per cent of all applicants to medicine. On the back of this, Jacob set up The Aspiring Medic's Support (TAMS) in 2018. The not-for-profit organisation has helped thousands of aspiring young medical students from disadvantaged backgrounds with their medical journeys. Jacob graduated from Keele in 2021 🩺🎓

Today Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence are hosting the 'Keele Education Conference 2024', exploring inclusive practice into teaching, learning, and assessments with a lineup of speakers and workshops throughout the day #KeeleED24📚

We were proud to host a high-profile talk series at Keele Hall yesterday, where a panel of experts addressed issues facing the UK and U.S. in domestic, transatlantic and global contexts 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Unfolding Our Shared Future: Challenge, Possibility and Potential in the 21st Century is a travelling festival that has previously been held at several Russell Group institutions. The panel, featuring two internationally renowned researchers in the field, were joined virtually by an official from Embassy of the United States of America, London. The panelists discussed the challenge of urban regeneration, including urban policy, public space, architecture, and gentrification.
