  1. Watching the video of the band at the Momoyama Higashi Elementary School Summer Festival from July 2012, I noticed it was a much smaller band. The percussion section, for instance. Although they were in the back, I could tell there were only four of them – Natchan on snare, a girl on quads, and a girl and guy on bass drums. No cymbal players. And, like the rest of the band, the drum section that year was huge. Do schools in Japan have a break over summer? Since so many in the band were missing, I thought maybe that was because many of them were away on summer break.

Unfortunate that that “rokkame” dude didn’t video the entire performance.

    • Only the 109th & 110th classes (minus a few) are present for this performance. The band’s large numbers from 2012 till 2014 were due to the 111th class.
The 109th had 4 percussionists and one isn’t here. The 110th had 3 at this time (one quit the band the next year) and only one is present.

      • I see…..I thought that since July is approaching the middle of the school year, the 111th would be there. Or were they not yet ready to perform with the band? Since they were a big class, that was a lot of kids to train.

I also watched the video of the band at JA Mutual Aid Traffic Safety event in December, certainly looks like it was the full band. The percussion section was in the back and hardly visible again, but there is a glimpse of Mentapu just before 1:00 and several seconds of a smiling Natchan playing her snare drum at 3:25.

  2. Precise dates can be provided for the 49th Regular Concert: 23rd and 24th December.
On the classics stage, the band played Prayer and Pride (J. Naito); A Huntingdon Celebration (P Sparke); From the Ballet Suite Gayane (A Khachaturian); West Side Story Selection (L. Bernstein).
The Pops Stage included a Tachibana medley and the Lupin III theme.

  3. 2012 (I think) Brass Expo video from Pals Music. Tachibana appearing at 11:43 and dancing along to YMCA at 13:50 at the back. Video quality not good though, best to watch on a mobile device.

    • Brass Expo trivia
Brass Expo is a festival for brass bands in the Kansai area, and there is no band performance contest. However, there is another contest. It is a handmade placard contest. Handmade placards are marching at the front of each band. The KT OGs always carry the placard. As far as I remember, KT has never won any prize in this contest. At 14:13 in this video is the award ceremony of this contest.

  4. I looked around to see if this was posted here, but I didn’t see it – another video of the Kyoto qualifications from the All-Japan Marching contest of September 9, 2012. This view is also from the rear, but it was taken from an angle. The quality isn’t bad, either. I can make out Mentapu of the 111th on snare, even though I believe that was her first year. I’m not totally sure, but it looked like it might have been 110th’s Smilin’ Misaki-san on xylophone. I think it might be 111th’s Negibi on bass drum, but there were two guys in the percussion section that year. In fact, I think that may have been the largest KT percussion section I’ve seen yet, 16 members – six snare drummers (as many as they had in the 2012 Rose Parade band), four bass drummers, four cymbal players, a glock and the xylophone (members switched instruments after “The Bandwagon,” with two switching to tom tom drums). Certainly bigger than my high school drum section.

    • Manny- Bravo for your recognition abilities!
This was the year of the massive new intake. There were 104 band members participating at the Kyoto qualifications. The narrator on the TV programme following the band says that were 114 band members in total. This compares with just 64 participants at the Kyoto stage the year before, with 69 band members in total. The 2012 contest was to be the last before the limit of 81 was imposed on band participants.
Interestingly, the School Principal’s diary says that the total number that travelled to the 2012 Kansai contest was 130; that must have included the support staff. His diary entry contains some nice images of the 2012 band: https://www.tachibana-hs.jp/kochotayori/201209/20120927.html

      • Of course, one may ask why the participating member limit was set at 81. Why not 85? 90? 😁 Yeah, I thought the band look pretty large as well, not just the drum section. Seeing the band photos, that certainly was Misaki-san on xylophone, since I can see she was the only girl in the percussion section with short hair and – like Puchie of the 114th – she stands out with that smile of hers. 😁 It looks like most everyone was unaware the second photo was being taken since there are several who were looking away from the photographer. 😁

      • I don’t know why it took me so long, but I also spotted Natsuki/Natchan of the 109th on snare. Right next to Mentapu and behind Pure. The smile gave her away. 😁 She apparently didn’t switch instruments and stayed on snare for “Sing.” Also spotted was then-first year student Bachofu and her sax (for some reason, I’ve been removed from her Instagram followers list twice. I mean, for posting a few compliments on her artistic photography?).

And as is usually the case with KT performances like this, not a single person out-of-step.

  5. 108th class DM Horacha and two colleagues discuss their 15 Feb 2012 interview on a radio programme about their Rose Parade experience: https://www.tachibana-hs.jp/kochotayori/201202/20120216.html
    Translation
“Interview with brass band members who appeared on the radio.
Yesterday, three members of the brass band appeared on KBS Kyoto Radio’s “Takeo Moriya’s Take Care of You”.
It was a valuable experience before their graduation from high school. We immediately asked them to come to the headmaster’s office for an interview.
They are Asada-san, the drum major, Kiku-san, the director, and Honda-san, the assistant director.
    – We interviewed the three students who appeared on the radio.

    (Q) I think this is your first time to appear on the radio live, what was it like?
(3 people) It was interesting. I was nervous at first, but the announcer was very good and made it easy for me to talk.
(3 people) I didn’t feel like this was being broadcast at all.
(3 people) But I didn’t know what to say, so I couldn’t talk as much as I wanted to.

    (Q) More than a month after the Rose Parade, what was that experience like for you?
(Asada) I joined this school because I love marching, and I felt that I saw the charm of marching again. When we perform with smiles on our faces, the response is even greater. Our goal for this year was to “Share Best Smile”, and I think we achieved that in America at the end of the year.
(Kiku) I realized that there is joy after overcoming hardships. But now I don’t remember the hard part. I only remember the fun I had in the show.
(Honda) I also did a homestay over there, which made me realise how difficult it is when you don’t speak the language, but I found out that in marching, even if you don’t speak the language, you can communicate with each other. I realized that there are many ways to communicate with each other.”

There are many more factors involved in who advances, and who does not…..even if they won a gold in qualifications, it’s so much more than just straight lines and perfect music. The ‘nationals’ are a very political presentation, based on a military marching style of performance. K.T. understand this, and yet are very proud to go
thru the two qualification rounds, knowing the odds are stacked against them.

It’s called Pride….when they perform, they leave it all on the arena floor, that’s all they can do…..
how the judges interrupt the performance and make the scoring is out of their control. It is, what it is.

  7. Here’s NHK’s “High School Brassband Battle” from 2012.

No points guessing who won, and the looks of their peers in the audience is priceless. Still got some of them clapping along though.

As I noted there in a reply to a comment, I can accept if parents/relatives or the school’s AV club capturing amateur footage of these kids’ parades, but NHK’s “professional” camera work will induce vertigo.

In 2005, in such a stagnant state, a revolution occurred in the Tachibana High School marching band.

Takigawa Daini High School, representing Hyogo Prefecture, narrowly missed out on the national competition last year.

This year Tachibana High School did not make the national competition.
They can no longer see what’s inside the amulet.
      33:16
      K-san :
I couldn’t make Maiya (nickname of drum major Y-san.) cry, and I couldn’t keep what I swore to my seniors last year.
I wanted to win a gold Award at the national competition. It all came to an end.

      • Uribo- Thank you for this valuable translation. I hope you don’t mind me providing a link on Fan Corner so as many people read it as possible.
The video brings out clearly the challenge between practising the choreography and getting the playing right. Although the problem must have been exacerbated by having to train the largest ever intake of first years.
Thanks to your translation, we can understand why the seniors were watching an Osaka Toin rehearsal. The expression on their faces alone spoke volumes.
Also, it is interesting that the students’ ambition was not so much to do better than other bands, but to do at least as well as previous KT generations.
We can now better appreciate and see the improvement between the Kyoto and Kansai performances.
As a point of record: the narrator repeats that the band had 113 members. Not all played at the contests; if my count is correct, 104 played at both the Kyoto and Kansai events.
Thanks again for your hard work!

It has been difficult to find time to work on the translation and it has taken me a long time.
As far as I read Alan-san’s accurate impressions, I was relieved that there were no major mistakes in the translation.
However, KT-BAND is constantly changing and evolving, so this video may be too old to be helpful anymore.

          • Uribo- It’s certainly helpful as a historic record. Today’s band is what it is, thanks to the hard work of previous generations. The tension between achieving the energetic steps and maintaining a perfect harmony is still relevant. In a way, the tension is greater now because what is being sought is a sound that goes deeper than just maintaining a perfect harmony. There has to be a counter-effect, which is to replace the sharpness of the steps to moves that are softer and more graceful. At least, that’s my impression. Also, the close attention paid by the seniors to Osaka Toin’s performance is very telling. The seniors know a good sound when they hear it, and they know KT falls short. The same happened in 2019 when Kaneshiro-sensei took the band on their Kyushu tour. As a result, the students now perfect their playing before perfecting the choreography. So there are many links between then and now!

It looked so much fun that I wanted to incorporate it.

Presumably, at 3:40, the term “The Head of the Brass Band” designates the Club President.

          Thank you for your comments.

I think KT-Band was lucky to have a good technician like M-san nearby.
The percussionist who can complete the performance even in a heavy and unbalanced state is amazing.

As for the description of “The Head of the Brass Band”, “The leader of the Brass Band” would have been more appropriate, and there may be other expressions that are more suitable.
          Sorry for the weird translation.
          I hope this description will be corrected by ODF-san.(^_^;

Now, the video of Vol.5 is quite long even in the KT-Band part alone, so I hesitate to do the translation work.
However, the contents of Vol. 5 are the culmination of the “Brass Band Tour 2012 Marching Edition” series, and I’d really like the visitors of this fan site to watch it, but I don’t know what to do…(-_-)

          • Uribo, I think that “the head of…” is likely to be more accurate than “the leader of…” The latter would indicate rather more the Drum Major which clearly she’s not. It’s just that the role of the Club President is often not directly described as such. For example, Tanaka-sensei, in his book, refers to “the general manager” (if the translation is correct) and again, I think it’s a way of describing the President. I’m probably looking for more precision than the original recording allows, but I think it’s a safe bet that the narrator is referring to the President.
As to Vol.5, only do it if you would take pleasure in doing it! What you’ve translated so far already gives us so much to learn from and enjoy!

But a first graders who is Beginner to marching…
      2:49
TV Staff: Do you know how to read the Conté?
      2:50
      first grader: Hmmm・・・
      2:54
      TV Staff: difficult?
      2:55
      first grader: Yes.
      2:57
first grader: I don’t know how to read the Conté.
      3:00
      telop: Kameoka Sports Park Gymnasium.
      narrator:
Then the first weekend. All 114 members of the club were in the district gymnasium.
This is the first time for first graders to practice in a place where they can march.
It’s the first opportunity to check my position and movement since I was given the Conté, but the first graders are just confused.
A small number of senior members were flitting between these first graders.
      3:23
      narrator:
The last movement described in the Conté is the last show in which the three left and right rows make a “V” with 24 steps.
      But …
      3:38
drum major: OK! One more time.
      3:40
      narrator:
The lines don’t line up even though it’s crucial.
However, it is usually the time when the first graders are still practicing to move forward and acquire a sense of stride.
      3:51
narrator: If you stop the march in the middle …
      3:55
      narrator:
You are off at this point. You don’t seem to know the point you should be aiming for in the first place.
Originally, if the Conté is distributed, each person must know the distance between the point and his / her position in advance before the Comprehensive practice.
But it’s the first time the first graders have practiced in a big place.
      4:15
      drum major:
What do you mean by those who are checking the points now? I told you to check your points in advance, didn’t I?
      4:22
      drum major:
Why does it take so long? Do you see that the practice is not progressing?
      4:27
      All members: Yes, sir.
      4:30
      narrator:
After a stern warning from the leader, practice finally resumed.
The lines aren’t pretty yet, but I’ve managed to see a V shape.
      4:42
telop: One week until the performance.
narrator: One week until the performance.
      4:45
      narrator:
On this day, the clarinet part was working hard on its own practice, paying attention to each other only by the first graders.
      4:57
first grader: Your legs aren’t stretched out as nicely as the seniors.
      5:00
first grader: I want to do it like Tomiron senior, but I can’t. I want to be a Tomiron senior.
      5:06
first grader: How can I stretch my legs as beautifully as my seniors?
      5:08
first grader: It’s like this, right?(Showing with arms outstretched.)
      first grader: Oh yeah.
      5:12
TV Staff: Is your goal to be like a senior?
      first grader: Yes.
      5:16
TV Staff: Now you are still totally different from your seniors?
      first grader: Yes.
      5:18
      TV Staff: What’s the difference?
      5:20
first graders: The sharpness of the choreography.
      5:23
first grader: The legs are moving quickly.
      5:26
      first grader: It’s too cool.
      5:27
TV Staff: Is it too cool?
      5:30
first grader: Now let’s practice again from the same place.
      first grader: Yeah.
      5:33
first grader: Oh, there are seniors.
      5:39
first grader: Isn’t that Lara senior?
      5:41
      first grader: That’s a senior.
      5:43
      first grader: That’s Lara senior.
      5:44
      TV Staff: Lara senior?
      5:46
      first grader: Very cute!
      5:48
first grader: I wonder if you can turn to me.
      5:49
first grader: Why do I have a ponytail hairstyle today?
      5:53
      first grader: Very cute!
      5:55
first grader: I am deathly excited.
first grader: I was deeply moved just by seeing seniors.
first grader: I’m dying of excitement.
      5:59

      6:03
TV Staff: Hahahaha, you guys are weird.
      6:05
first grader: I don’t regret even if I die now.
      6:07
first grader: All the seniors are too cute.
      6:11
TV Staff: Hahahaha, you guys are cute too.
      6:13

      6:18
      narrator:
The first graders were under the direct tutelage of the longed Lara seniors and Tomilon seniors.
      6:31
Tomilon senior: Absolutely close the legs in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 at the end!
      first graders: Yes, sir.
      6:38
Tomilon senior: I haven’t kicked my leg up at all. Be sure to kick up!
      first graders: Yes, sir.
      6:47
      narrator:
The movement is not good, but in the first place, a terrible mistone appears every time a big movement is made.
What are they going to do about it?
      7:01
Tomilon senior: What have I been careful about you so far?
      7:06
first graders: It is to stop the legs one by one.
      7:08
      Tomilon senior: Other than that?
      7:09
first graders: The legs are to kick up firmly.
      7:13
Tomilon senior: Are they done properly?
      7:15
All members: I haven’t done it.
      7:17
Tomilon senior: You have to do it, right?
      7:18
      All members: Yes, sir.
      7:19
      Lala senior:
Practice may be painful, but it shows in your facial expression. You can see that it is painful when you look at it.
Coach Yokoyama told you to perform with a smile yesterday, right?
      7:27
      All members: Yes, sir.
      7:28
Tomilon senior: Are you performing with a smile?
      7:30
first grader: I haven’t done it.
      7:32
Lala senior: I know it’s painful, but you have to enjoy it yourself.
      7:35
      All members: Yes, sir.
      7:37
Tomilon senior: you can do it, so do it right.
      7:39
      All members: Yes, sir.
      7:41
Tomilon senior: This is the end of part practice. Thank you very much.
      7:43
All members: Thank you very much.
      7:46
TV Staff: Seniors, what do you think of first graders?
      7:48
      Tomilon senior:
Since the day of the show is coming up, I cautioned that I wanted you to be a little more nervous.
      7:54
Lala senior: But I know they’re is doing their best. I’m looking at it properly.
      7:58
TV Staff: Is it a whip of love?
      8:01
narrator: On the other hand, the first graders who received the whip of love …
      8:08
TV Staff: Are you guys ok?
      8:12
TV Staff: Those two are good seniors.
      8:15
TV Staff: You’re longing for those seniors, right?
      8:18
TV Staff: Your seniors are very enthusiastic about teaching you guys.
      8:21
TV Staff: So please do your best.
      8:24
TV Staff: Class is about to start. Hurry.

      8:42
narrator: “Sing sing sing” intense steps over and over again, everyone is sweating.
      8:50
narrator: The humidity in that hot air is 85%, mirrors and glass are fogged up.
      8:57
narrator: An hour later, finally a break. The expression on the first grader face is dead.
      9:07
telop: The day before the show.
      narrator:
The day before the show. In the first place, the difficulty of marching is the fusion of the beauty of the formation and the beauty of the performance.
In the case of Tachibana High School, dance choreography will be added to them.
      9:28
      TV Staff: how is it?
      9:29
first grader: It’s a tough situation. Various difficult situations.
      9:31
      first grader: I am worried.
      9:33
first grader: I can’t sleep tonight because I’m worried.
      9:34
TV Staff: Can’t sleep? What are you worried about?
      9:35
first grader: Yes, I can’t sleep. This is no laughing matter.
      9:39
TV Staff: Are you ok tomorrow?
      9:40
      first grader: (crying) It’s ok.
      9:48
      narrator:
First graders can’t hide their anxiety before the show.
      9:54
      telop: June 23
      narrator:
On June 23, Tachibana High School came to the venue, Kyocera Dome Osaka.
      10:02
first grader(male): Was the venue this big?
      first grader(female): great!
      10:05
      narrator:
the 3000 people’s brass band brings together many bands from elementary school students to the general public to perform gorgeous marching and performances, and of course, some of the strong schools in the Kansai region also participate in the band.
      10:20
      narrator:
Waseda Settling High School has been out of the national competition for the past five years, but has participated in 12 national competitions and won the gold medal 10 times.
We have refined the traditional college style and overwhelmed the venue with a sharp performance that I can not think of as a female member.
      10:38
      narrator:
And Takigawa Daini High School, which lost in the Kansai branch tournament last year, has participated in the national tournament seven times in the past and won the gold medal five times.
This year, 67 people are participating, which is smaller than last year’s Tachibana High School.
      What a song they chose…
      10:53
      band member: Let’s go!
      All band member: Yeah!
      11:01
      narrator:
“Sing Sing Sing”. The trained movements and performances are so powerful that it’s hard to believe that there are only 67 people.
      11:15
      narrator:
Next is Tachibana High School. What kind of results will the third graders who teach and the first graders who are taught produce?
      11:27
      narrator:
All 114 members started running toward the point. This is the first stage to predict the fate of the new Tachibana High School.
However, I suddenly jumped over the point and overrun. It was the first grade and the third grade that exceeded.
      They aren’t looking around.
      11:49
      narrator:
And then the performance of “Sing Sing Sing” begins.
      12:07
      narrator:
At first glance, they seem to be aligned, but the movements of the legs are uneven.
      12:14
      narrator:
      And on the way.
      12:22
      narrator:
      The performance is also disturbed.
      12:32
      narrator:
and the last. The V-shape that I had a hard time practicing … The lines are not aligned.
      12:49
      narrator:
The performances, movements, and choreography that I practiced earlier than usual all Everything Collapsed.
      12:56
      TV Staff: how was it?
      13:00
TV Staff: Did you do your best?
      13:06
first grader(M-san): It was no good.
      13:08
      narrator:
The performance of “Sing Sing Sing” that I dreamed of. The first graders were in tears at the result of their first performance.
      13:17
      narrator:
And third grader Tomilon senior also.
      13:21
      TV Staff: how was it?
      13:26
Tomilon senior: Everything was no good.
      13:34
Tomilon senior: I panicked,in my head turned white. I forgot everything.
      13:38
      narrator:
She herself was also failing under the pressure of the show.
      13:43
      narrator:
Coach Yokoyama, who has seen practices, performances, and performances from other schools, opened his mouth.
      13:48
      Coach Yokoyama:
I myself regret that I should have done that and that I should have done this.
Sound is important. Long tone. Basic practice. Attack.
      14:04
      All members: Yes, sir.
      14:05
      Coach Yokoyama: Let’s repeat this.
      All members: Yes, sir.
      14:07
      Coach Yokoyama: Let’s practice frantically!
      All members: Yes, sir.
      14:10
      narrator:
Kyoto Tachibana High School decided to start by rebuilding the performance side. Will their restart be in time for the contest?

      The end.

      0:58
      narrator:
But a rule change for this year’s contest created a huge problem.
That is, the use of Pit musical instrument was banned.
A Pit musical instrument is a drum set that is set up on the floor to play.
Tachibana High School’s Sing Sing Sing has been adding large percussion instruments to make their performance more powerful,
but this year they will have to change it to all portable instruments. Moreover・・・,
      1:24
      Percussion part leader senior N:
This school has no money and cannot afford to buy an instrument. The drums are old and unscrewed.
We are performing in this state.
      1:36
      narrator:
Many other instruments are also old.
In the part where there are only a few instruments, the older members of the club are desperately trying to repair the broken instruments for the younger members.
      1:49
TV Staff: Why does this instrument (Susa) have tape on it?
      1:51
member:It’s because it’s cracked here. Please touch it. This is pretty serious.
      2:01
      narrator:
However, even if the musical instrument is about to break, the passion of the members is still hot.
Each 3rd grader began teaching the basics of marching to the first grader who had just joined the club.
      2:10
      3rd grade members:
When you put out your feet, make sure you land smoothly from the heel.
      Yes, that’s fine.
      2:22
      narrator:
Marching is based on walking 5 meters in 8 steps. The width of each step is 62.5 cm. This is a common rule for marching people.
If there is a person who cannot do even one person, the formation will be disturbed.
      2:39
      narrator:
Next is a balancing exercise. You need a flexible and tough lower body to take hard steps.
Support your body on one leg and slowly open the raised leg to develop a sense of balance.
Most of the first graders are new to marching, so I have never practiced like this.

First graders are practicing while choreographing to participate in the Brass Expo held in May every year.
This day’s parade will be the debut day for Tachibana High School freshman club members.
Normally, I just walk while performing, but Tachibana High School performs parade while choreographing.
The choreography is not written on the score, and senior members of each part verbally teach the choreography.
The percussion part is also choreographed while wearing a heavy instrument.
      3:46
At Brass Expo, Tachibana High School will not only perform parades, but will also perform marching with only second and third year students who have experience in national competitions, but coach Yokoyama was trying to try something.
      4:01
Coach Yokoyama:first graders percussionists, get your instruments ready.(Please join the practice. Meaning of.)
      4:07
      narrator:
During marching, the nine first graders in the percussion part were instructed to participate only during Sing Sing Sing.
Coach Yokoyama plans to try out a set of portable percussion instruments for the first graders to prepare for the ban on Pit musical instrumen.
      4:28
      narrator:
With the exception of a few instruments such as the drum set, the percussion part is played with a bass drum, snare drum, etc. worn on the body.
Furthermore, as a countermeasure in case the drum set is not available in the future, a snare drum player will play the handheld cymbal.

      OK! OK! OK!
The two-step interval is getting narrower, so keep the two-step interval and march. Start again.
      5:39
      All members: Yes, sir.
      5:48
      drum major: OK! OK! OK!・・・
      5:49
      narrator:
The “OK” that Y-san of Drum Major says means “stop already”. She hasn’t praised her.
      5:56
      Y-san:
Misalignment will occur at the time of Up 1, 2, 3, so listen to the sound of percussion and start.
      All members: Yes, sir.
      6:04
      Y-san: OK!
Y-san: The timing of setting up the instrument is different, so make sure that the first grade matches the senior members around you.
      All members: Yes, sir.
      6:12
      narrator:
Drum major’s “OK!” continues endlessly for new members who can’t even walk correctly.
members walked, stopped, and went around the schoolyard many times.
      6:24
Y-san: What instructions did I give you guys earlier? What kind of instructions are you giving?
      6:29

This will be the first time everything has changed. I’m anxious.
      11:45
TV Staff: Is there a solution?
      11:48
      Percussion part leader senior N:
There are no musical instruments in this school. There is no musical instrument that can be used as a countermeasure.
Other schools have suspend cymbals, but this school has only four basic drums: snare drums, bass drums, cymbals, and multitums.
We have no instruments at all that we can accent. We can’t buy one because the school doesn’t have the money to pay for it.
      12:16
Percussion part leader senior N: The drums are also tattered.
      12:18
TV Staff: Are you using old ones on purpose?
      12:19
      Percussion part leader senior N:
I take good care of it and use it for a long time. The drums are old and unscrewed. We are performing in this state.
      12:27
      TV Staff: Is that ok?
      12:28
      Percussion part leader senior N:
      It’s not ok.
      12:29
TV Staff: It’s not ok, is it?
      12:30
      Percussion part leader senior N:
      I’m in trouble.
      12:34
      narrator:
In addition to the issue of banning the use of pit instruments, Kyoto Tachibana High School still used the tattered instruments of the good old days.
No matter how many new members increase, there is no instrument that can be played.
What will Kyoto Tachibana High School do?

      The end.

      • Uribo- Thank you, for once again transforming an interesting video into a fascinating one. It’s the first in a series that follows the band through 2012. We start with the DM expressing the will to grow the band to the level of the larger ones by almost doubling in size. In fact, according to the TV narrator, membership went from 69 at the end of 2011 to 114 twelve months after. The challenge for the senior to train all these newcomers must have been tremendous, compounded by the need to recompose percussion following the new competition rule that forbad pit instruments. The high point of the video is surely the infectious enthusiasm of the first years and thanks to your translation, we can now appreciate the jokes! For me, this video, now it can be understood, says a great deal about what makes the KT spirit.

        • I’m sorry for the poor translation this time as well.
Just as it is difficult for Japanese people to understand American jokes, it is difficult to express Japanese jokes well.
If you change it to another expression, it will lose its fun as a joke.
The part where the translation is immature needs the support of your imagination.
As Alan-san says, the point of this video is that many new first graders who are crazy about the coolness of KT-BAND have joined.
At this point, the new first graders are innocently pleased as they have not yet experienced hell practice.

Vol. 2 focuses on a few rising freshmen as they experience the difficulties of marching beyond the glitz and glamour.

In Vol.3, a small number of second and third graders will strictly guide a large number of new first graders, and the appearance of the new first graders desperately following it and the secret measures against the ban on pit instruments will be drawn.

I will try to translate the video of Vol.3 in the future, but it will take a while as I can only work on it on the weekends. Please wait patiently.

      • Oops, the first statement was wrong.
        Correctly
“Title telop: “Brass Band Tour 2012 Marching Edition.”
“narrator: Brass Band Tour 2012 Marching Edition.”
        is.
