Perspective taking refers to a combination of conceptual and perceptual processes that allow insight into another’s psychological experience (Marvin et al. 1976; Flavell 1977; Frischen et al. 2007). Specifically, perceptual perspective taking draws on the cognitive process such as Theory of Mind to provide people insight into one another’s field of vision only. Conceptual perspective taking is more complex, allowing insight into one another’s psychological experience such as intentions, beliefs, and desires.
