I was skeptical at first. I had only a litte idea what they served.
I give 5 stars for the lamb meat.
WOW, The tacos were packed with meat. The Lamb tasted pretty damn good.
The sauces seemed to work with the food but there not your average hot sauces. I found them fresh tasting!
I also ordered the rolled tacos (floutas) and they were amazing. Crispy but not crunchy. The meat was tasty. the order comes with three but there longer than those resturant factory made tacitos so that was a plus.
The place is small but you get a catered to feeling.
I WILL GO AGAIN!
I am not into lamb because i find it too oily, but i was supprised at how this is not the case at Aqui es TexcocoHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - S. A.Manhattan, NY12602Jul 9, 2011
I ate there yesterday 7/8/11, the menu wasn't easy to understand if your spanish is not up to par. The lamb from the leg and ribs were ok but too much fat was incorporated in the mix. The presentation of the plate was sparce just the chooped meat nothing else very one deminsional, the tortilas were ok and hot.
The cost seemed high compared to other shops. Nothing so extraordinary was experienced, the staff were very helpful and the place looked clean. I might go back to try other items on the menu to be completely fair. The plates I saw coming out of then kitchen were very uninspiring no color no depth. Everyone seemed to eating and enjoying themselves.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alfonso G.Inglewood, CA9135126Jan 5, 2017

This restaurant has lamb, rabbit, quail, chicken, grasshopper, cactus as an option for your guacamole. Delicious, great service, reasonable prices, helpful bilingual servers. Happy to go there every time I'm in Chula Vista. They cook the tortillas for tacos crispy/chewy, just like I love. You can get lamb brains and whole head here as well. I love their brain tacos. Don't miss the lamb broth soup. Yumm!

After spending 2 hours watching Bizarre Foods on youtube I had an itch to try something different.
Lamb head sounded good so here I go.....
Drove about 30 miles down south and almost got killed on the way there. 2 dumb rednecks where hauling an entire living room set behind a beat up truck and suddenly you see chair and table flying out of it cuz the rope broke. Regardless to say it caused a huge accident and thank god I was able to avoid it.... (that will be a different story...)
So by the time I got there I was telling myself this lamb head better be darn amazing.... no such luck.. LAMB HEADS ARE SOLD OUT for the day... I almost wanted to cry but the owner of the place was very accomodating and suggested other meat parts from the lamb. So I figured why not.
I ordered:
Lamb Broth ( very very good )
1/2 lb of neck meat w/ tortillas ( good A+, could have been better if the tortillas were home made? )
1 lamb meat flauta ( lot of meat and very very tasty)
1 lamb tongue taco ( The best I ever had)
1 lamb brain taco ( hmmm interesting texture)
All in all it only cost me $14.00 with tax
Service was awesome and the food even better. Definetly worth a visit if you are looking to try something new.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dag N.Menifee, CA031Mar 27, 2019

My husband saw this placed advertised in the middle of the night. We had the chance to try it Saturday; totally happy I did. First everything super fresh, staff really welcoming and friendly. We had the Lamb quesadillas, the Quail and small lamb plate!! The lamb soup with the meal was super super good! The quail was marinated and cooked perfectly! Everything is al la cart, I didn't know that at the time. The family next to me ordered guacamole that looked amazing. I have wanted to try the Mexican truffle which is from corn; it was good like mushrooms and cheese. I thought the flavor would be over powering but it wasnt and really enjoyed my choice!! Most everything is served on styrofoam plates and cups so it felt like you were at a family or friends home for a BBQ. I will go back again, and again and again!!
PS: You can even order an entire lamb for a party or just to feed the family depending on the size.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jen S.Los Angeles, CA21270352Sep 4, 2012
Lamb of God? YES!!!
I mean, damn, this lamb tasted DEVINE.
So this place serves, you guessed it, lamb! it was BAAAAA-tastic.
i had the half order lamb plate. It came with tortillas and some toppings. The meat was moist, full of rich gamey flavor, and it was yummy yum. It also came with a cup of lamb broth what had beans in it. The broth was amazing, i mean, I would have never guessed that broth is something one could rave over, but it was so damn good I swear I would shoot it in my veins if I could.
I also had a small cactus salad. It was just okay.
BUT MMMMM THE LAMB!!!!!
The service was also pretty good, and my waiter's name was Jesus. No fooling!!!
If you are feeling adventurous you can order brain tacos and a lamb's head. I will be returning here to try more items (but I don't want head...wait...).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
