Do NOT shop at Bass. Zero customer service.
I went to the store to buy boat shoes for my husband.....they were out of stock so the salesgirl offered to ship to us. We made the purchase.
      The wrong shoes were shipped.
There was a paper in the box telling me to make returns with enclosed label. Or pay for shipping myself. There was no label enclosed.
I call customer service....after keeping me on hold for too long, i am told they will email me a label within 24 hours.
      I call again....same thing happens.
      I ask for a supervisor.....still can't email label immediately.
I call for the fourth time .....get the same run around.
I realize i can pay for the shipping myself....even though i would need to call back and get the address. Not anywhere on the box.
The Elsinore outlet is over an hour away...not worth the trip.
And i do not trust the company.

First I would like to start off by saying , I Always come to this Store to get shoes for my Grandparents . I am always greeted by lovely young ladies , who are very friendly and helpful . Just a few days ago I purchased some shoes for my Grandma in a size 6 , I thought they were so cute that I took the last pair which was the display . The strap at the top wasn't small enough to grip on her ankle . I went In today on May 30th around 2:30 , was not greeted !! The girl turned to look at me and diddnt say a word until I walked up to the counter . Then I told her that I wanted to exchange these shoes , I diddnt want my money back just another pair of shoes . She opens the box and tells me NO . They have been used. I tried to tell her she just tried them on and they diddnt grip, she diddnt wanna hear anything I said & just said she would give me another number to call and see what they could do for me . Wasn't even friendly , was completely rude . Telling me she wore them even tho she diddnt !! Good thing I saw her name tag , FELI . You should try being a little friendly , especially if you have those bags under your eyes and no make up on looking like you just rolled out of
Bed . I'll be uploading the pics of the shoes , so everyone can see that they are not worn . Go to Macy's , something wrong they will exchange it for you !!

I have purchased boots, flats, and dress shoes here and they are all comfy and have held up well. I am always greeted with a smile and offered assistance by the employees.

      Updated review

I bought 5 pairs of shoes here and some accessories for my wife, and I was happy to find a men's shoe store that sold real leather shoes of decent quality for under a hundred bucks, but one of the pairs was defective and I couldn't have possibly known it without wearing them for an hour, painful it was, just the right shoe and it wasn't going to go away. Defective shoe.
So they didn't want to take them back, said they weren't returnable if worn.
What if you have to wear them to find out there's a problem?
We had to agree to buy another pair for an additional ten bucks.
I didn't like their harsh return policy and I didn't like the attitude. I'm not going back.

Six months later and I have worn the dress shoes maybe a dozen times each and the soles on two of the pairs are already shot.
The bait and switch knock off junk with their own name on it trick. I fell for it because I had a good experience with this brand years ago. Go t9 a reputable retailer.

In the Boat Shoe game, you can't get any better than Sperry. However, Bass used to be nearly as reputable and their product was nearly as durable. Boat Shoes, if you're unfamiliar, are loafers with leather laces that wrap around the shoe. They are worn on boats, generally sailboats, and they are usually brown.

Now that you've become acquainted, Sperry makes the best Boat Shoes, which they call Top-Siders. They carry dozens of different styles at different price points.

Bass, was their main competitor. However, they've reduced their styles and now just offer a handful of lines. At this outlet you'll find their other designs. Bucs, Saddles, Dress, and Casual shoes can be found here. On my last visit they were running an insane special, Buy 1 Get 2 Free.

Unfortunately, my tastes are a bit more European when it comes to dress and casual shoes. You won't find wing-tips or tassel loafers here. But you will find affordable shoes that will last you a few years.

But for the more discerning shoe shopper, you'd do well to steer clear from here. You won't find what you're looking for.

      Try JM Weston...
