There are absolutely no complaints about this mandoo spot located right outside of the supermarket. Every once in a while, I get this very specific craving for the kimchi mandoos from this store because they prepare them in these big steamers and they're always served hot.
I love their mandoo set because of the variations and just how much food you get for your buck. I've also tried their kimchi wang dumplings, and let's say they have the most incredible meat-to-bun ratio ever.
Have yet to find a place that can top the mandoos served here--definitely worth the trip!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 27, 2021First to Review
JB Wang Mandoo just stands for "Joong Boo's wang mandoo" stand. Wang means king and mandoos are dumplings. You can find an explanation of what wang mandoo represents on their website. Here: http://joongboomarket.com/our-food/wang-mandoo/
Basically a snack food often found on the streets of Korea. The stand used to be inside the market, now it sits just outside of their market doors. Food is prepared in advance and if you're close enough to the glass, you can watch as they pack the dumplings fresh from their large stainless steel receptacles. A to-go menu is attached to a main window and the two items displayed that grabs the attention of most, is their saucy chicken wings and mandoo set. I'd imagine the wings are bathed in a marinade of some sweet with gochujang. Even better is the freshness of the chicken and dumplings. Since JB is a market with butcher shop, they are utilizing their goods in that preparation. These aren't items coming out of a deep freezer. Both are def worth a try. Each having a cost of about $11 and change with tax. If you surf Yelp's photos, you should see a circular container of chicken wings (mostly drums) and a styrofoam container with a combination of dumplings. What is unique are the selections of mandoo offered. Big, small and large! I was impressed. And add to that, they are handmade fresh mandoo.. zinger!
Even if you aren't shopping at the grocery, stop by and try some tasty Korean fast foods.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
