$3 for a small coke...really ? None of the prices are marked intentionally throughout this 7-11 type store. And when you do buy something the price is skyrocketed. Meat looks rotten. Deli is gross. Bananas sit there rotting, bread is smashed...this place is just looking for 1 time tourists to buy their super expensive huge selection of wines. Yuck...why did I go there ? Don't know, but I wont go back when I'm driving through Kenwood.

BUT...the woman handling it wiped her hands on a dirty cloth, then used her hands to pick up the meatloaf and cut it. Yuch...we were hungry...we ate it anyway, but we're sorry we did. They need gloves and don't seem to have any food handling training. Again yuch. You ask why we shopped here again after my negative comments? I ask the same thing. We shouldn't have. We wont any more. Bring your own gloves.
Mar 24, 2009Previous reviewWe've shopped in this market for 20 years as it went through different owners. We give them good business. And, when I wanted to use a credit card for a $2 item...they said "sorry, we can't under $5". This is not good policy. That few cents they would have lost, will now add up to a lot more of a loss through the years with the loss of our business. Even though the 7-11 type food is not good, we still shopped there out of convenience. Not anymore. That business policy should not included loyal patrons that always buy way over $5 at a time. Not that good food, bad policy for regulars = loss of customer base. You just lost a family of 5 and friends I will tell.
Nov 7, 2008Previous reviewNice people, but the deli food is old and recycled. If you don't mind 7-11 food this will be OK. But again, the service is friendly. It's just that markets are about the food. Sorry, but the quality is not like Whole Foods - did the last reviewer really mean that?

A fairly remote grocery store that is really your only option if in the area. To continue on the remoteness, it is not too far from civilization obviously, but the next grocery store is easily 15 minutes away.
With that said, they do offer quite of bit of stuff, including name brands and locals, but at a higher price than most sores. Navigating the store is pretty straight forward, but the staff seemed unable or did not want to when I was there. To be fair, it was quite early in the morning, so that could be why help was non apparent. As for parking, expect plenty of room as it is located in a large parking lot shared by plenty of wineries and a restaurant. It is also very easy on and off from Hwy 12, which makes it attractive for many passing by.
So my opinion is if you are passing by and need something, sure it works. If you are staying in a nearby hotel or B&B, and need ample groceries, head to Sonoma and or Rincon Valley as they has many more stores with the same products, but far less money.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steven T.San Francisco, CA02212Aug 15, 2020

Walked in and the place smelled off. The meats were discolored. The deli counter was closed- luckily! We were going to get some drinks from the cooler but some were way past expiration date. The man at the cashier never got off his phone to even acknowledge us. Terrible

Super high prices and a cashier who can't be bothered to get off his phone long enough to even ring you up, much less return a greeting. I've tried several times, I'm done. Consistently horrible.

Top five things you'll care to know:
1) Parking lot with lots of parking, don't worry about having to do any parallel or perpendicular or horizolateralvert type parking.
2) Lots of basic goods.
3) Deli in the back serving a random assortment of stuff.
4) Food from the deli was decent.
5) WHY ARE THERE SO MANY FLIES IN THE DELI AREA...had we not been starving, we would not have come here. There were enough flies to warrant an investigation by some paranormal agency with Agents Muller and....whatever the other one's name is. :D but seriously...clean up the fly issues Kenwood Village Market. Yuck.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kathy S.Anacortes, WA018Apr 15, 2020
Check your receipts carefully if you have to shop here. They just charged me $1.69 for a 69 cent bag of peanuts, insisting the price was $1 for 2, $1.69 for one, even though it is printed on the bag that one bag costs 69 cents! He refused to refund the error, and rang up the purchase again, charging me $1.49 for the 69 cent bag, saying that was all he was able to do! I know, it's only 80 cents, but still.... Just watch out if you have to buy something here.

As a Kenwood resident I'm grateful to have the convenience of the Kenwood Village Market. It's like an oversized convenience store. They have the basics and more--fresh veggies (enough to pull a meal together), milk, fresh baguettes and more canned, packaged food, and frozen food than you might expect. The deli is decent and they have a nice cheese selection. They have a large selection of wine. As long as you're not expecting a full-service grocery store or gourmet specialty store, you won't be disappointed.

I just paid $7.95 here for a sandwich which I buy regularly in Sonoma for $4.65. It cost nearly twice as much and wasn't half as good.
And it came with zero customer service. When I buy something at your store, smile at me and say hi. Don't give me the surly sandwich guy who is pissed that I couldn't see the word veggie somewhere on the sandwich board.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 7, 2007First to Review
Surprisingly nice food market for my sleepy little new home town. Carries some high end gourmet brands. Deli counter selection isn't large like the big city, yet the quality is right up there with Whole Foods and Bristol Farms.
Nice place to get your picnic food when you're visiting the Valley of the Moon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
