I hosted one of our partners for dinner. It was an opportunity for us to build upon our relationship and for them to interact with our CEO.
We had a private room upstairs which was very conducive to getting to know each other in a quiet setting.
The food was tremendous. My steak was tender and delicious. The Bordeaux wine that I picked to accompany our meal appeared to be a hit for everyone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Corey S.Murrieta, CA43329Feb 16, 2024
I would have given this restaurant 10 stars if I could. Very easily one of the best meals I ever had. Wow! The lobster bisque was so creamy. The crab/lobster cake was awesome, but the basil sauce was even better than that. The sea bass was exceptional with that butter sauce. So good. My wife's sliced filet was cooked to perfection and so good. The cheese cake at the end was light and so yummy. I want to eat like that everyday. So amazing.
The service was as good as the food. Maria was amazing and gave us so much good advice. She took amazing care of us. She had help from Hassan who was always on point to help with whatever we needed plus some great conversation. They both made our experience that much better. Thank you!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - henry h.Scarsdale, NY341512Feb 10, 2024

Great flavor on the porcini rubbed ribeye and the Kona crusted strip steak. Tough to choose between the two making both of them must tries.
Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0May 7, 2018Previous reviewOne of the best chain steakhouses out there. Consistent amongst their many locations but the midtown NYC spot is a stand out, whether for lunch or dinner. And the 14 Oz sirloin is the perfect lunch time entree.
Jul 24, 2014Previous reviewI've been to Capital Grille several times and the Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin is always top notch. Last night, Cap Grille was on an even better level with their 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Started off with a tasty Alaskan king crab w/citrus vinaigrette. Next up was a well executed seared scallop over summer corn risotto....course 3 and 4 were great, lamb chops in a Kona crust and a filet topped with white truffle butter....last but not least was a decadently rich chocolate cake....needless to say, all of the wines matched to dishes well.

Waiting for my table for my 8 o'clock reservation, so I sat in the bar area and had an espresso martini and my friend had the in fashion and she really enjoyed it, she said it was really strong. Their bar area is really nice and there's also tables in the bar area to sit at, aside from the bar. The ambiance was calm and enjoyable for a date night, a calm after work dinner or girls night dinner. The service was amazing, although we did do a little waiting for our 8pm reservation. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and our food was amazing. I did the Gorgonzola topped steak and my friend did the ribeye ostrich style. We did the Brussels sprouts and lobster Mac for our sides. We also got a complementary side of asparagus.

We celebrate our anniversary at a Capital Grille wherever we maybe... this year we were back at Rockefeller center. It was also our first disappointment. Our experiences have been consistently good at all the locations we have tried. Service tonight was just poor. We started with a seafood tower. Simple and usually really good. This time it was mediocre at best. They managed to keep the price about the same as last year but with a much reduced and inferior portion. We also had to ask for a hot towel which is needed and expected with a cold seafood appetizer. What we got was neither a towel nor hot! Steak was excellent and prepared just as we asked. The price however was increased by about 25% which is better than what happened with the seafood tower. Service issues persisted throughout meal including having to ask for a check three times. The place was not busy.

We spent a couple of days in NYC at the end of December. We saw the Lion King and the Rockets. Both shows were fantastic. Of course, we also went to the Capital Grill which was also fantastic. There is no way to go wrong when going to Capital Grill. The food never disappoints and the wine list is also top notch. My son and I ate the Porcini Rubbed Rib Eye which was the special offering. I ordered mine rare, and it was cooked perfectly. For a side we had the garlic spinach and fresh mushrooms. I love fresh mushrooms and these were fantastic. The spinach was also great. The service was impeccable and not rushed. We really wanted to enjoy our dinner and just talk a little.
The bottom line is there is no way to go wrong eating at the Capital Grill. I highly recommend any of their locations.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 27, 2022
Great experience! Everything was good and we were able to enjoy ourselves and ate well. This place is quite big and spacious with views onto nearby buildings. My "In Fashion" cocktail was ordinary (like an old-fashioned), but that's not a bad thing. Sometimes pretentious cocktails are awkward. Be ready to put you money where you mouth is though because it is quite expensive. That being said it is definitely worth it. Ultimately, it's the service that stands out and I will certainly revisit this location.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - May 7, 2023
Came by myself after day meetings. I had a 7pm reservation but arrived a bit early. It was a Sunday evening. The place was busy but not over crowded. I was seated promptly.
Decor and feel is consistent with other Capital Grilles. All good. One of the reasons to come here is the consistency of the service and food.
Maria my server came by and I got a vesper, Bombay sapphire and Belvedere. Well done. The breadbasket was brought with an assortment of warm items.
Started with 6 oysters. Main was a 10oz filet, medium rare. The oysters were great - clean, fresh and cold. The sauces were particularly good. My steak was precisely as ordered. A nice piece of meat.
Finished with an espresso. No real ceremony but the coffee was good.
A very nice place for a fine meal and good service. Value was in line for a place like this.
I would return.
