I've seen many negative reviews and so let me tell my story, I've been coming here for a few years now and the staff is always knowledgeable. Up until this point I would have stamped my 5-stars and called it a day:

Now with that being said here is how it went down hill from here:::

I purchased an AR a while back and never did anything other than clean it, I finally had the opportunity to take it out to the range and the gas line on the front rail came dislodged after less than 3 clips. I had to clear the weapon with every shot since the gas operation was not functioning.

This is one of several purchases I've made from this place in the past few years (I just purchased a SIG 220 a couple of months back and at least two Glocks, in addition to this AR). I went back that same day that I took it to the range, however they would not help me, they were saying that due to new gun laws (not in effect yet) that they could not work on it since the SAME WEAPON they sold me would be banned in January due to the handle grip (We are in November, not January yet). They also said it was purchased less than 90-days prior.

I'm not going to gripe over their choice or policy not to take care of the weapon they sold me but I will no longer support a store that does not take care of their paying customers.

I've spent close to $5,000 here and I would have certainly continued to support this shop but I'm not happy having to take this weapon elsewhere to be serviced. I've also referred over at least two family members here who have also made purchases this year alone.

If the store owner wishes to further assist me and make things right I am a fair guy and I'm always willing to update my review to reflect the final and updated outcome. If your store cannot service my weapon due to laws you can also offer to cover it at an other location. I own a business also and if there is a job that we cannot complete for any reason I will refer the business and cover the cost, it's just the right way to do business.

I gave one star only since I feel that I've promoted this business and spent a lot, if it was a hamburger joint I would have probably tossed out 2 stars but I feel there was not support from all of the business they got from me and my referrals.

Here you can see the gas line move forward up the barrel disconnecting it and rendering it inoperable less than 3-clips into use...

Glock was offering a special for my department and I needed a Gun Store to accept delivery. The Stockade said they would handle the transition for me and they provided me a copy of their FFL.

A few weeks later the Stockade called me and I went in and completed the Dros paperwork They only charged me a very fair fee plus Dros fees.

Ten days later I picked up my Glock. I will recommend them to all my partners!

I had an old Sears shotgun on layaway for a whopping $250 which is an absurd cost for such a gun anyways (I had my reasons). I end up finding a deal on a Benelli that I couldn't refuse so I cancel the purchase.

$50 restocking fee! Are you kidding me? 20% restocking fee on a grossly overpriced Sears gun from the 70s that no one is going to buy.

When I tried to reason with the guy he exposed his yellow belly and flexible back. You just lost me as a customer for ALL of my ammo needs and any future arms purchases. You also lost my entire shooting and hunting party and everyone else I can spread the word to. Thousands of dollars lost. Terrible customer service. What are you thinking??

Sean was very helpful. He showed me a number of shotguns and pistols. A well stocked, complete gun and ammo shop.

This is a great little shop with all the usual stuff. Guns selection is a bit limited compare to other larger stores but they still have lots of great firearms to choose from. Large selection of cleaning and storage supplies. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It's definitely worth stopping in and giving them a try.

Its always a joy visiting The Stockade. They offer a large selection of guns, rifles, shotguns, antique guns, ammo, accessories, cleaning supplies, and they even have an entire room dedicated to reloading equipment/supplies and knives in the back. I usually go for cleaning supplies. The cleaning supplies they carry are of very high quality. Plus they carry what are perhaps the best cleaning rods available, Dewey rods. The customer service is great, they always treat me very well and I am frequently asked if I need any help looking for something. I would like to particularly thank the older gentleman that is usually working in the reloading section. The man is a pleasure to talk to, is very helpful and simply just makes you feel at home.

I read a review accusing some of the employees of being racist however I have personally found that to be completely false in my opinion. I am Hispanic and every time that I go there by myself or with family I feel welcomed and I get treated with nothing but respect.

Whether you are looking for a new firearm or just some cleaning supplies, The Stockade will not only most likely carry what you are looking for but their employees go far and beyond with customer service.

I was in here for 15 minutes walking up and down the counter, ready to buy and no one asked if I needed help. The only available person was on the phone and as soon as he got off the phone, he offered his help to two males that had just walked in. I ended up just walking out.

Prices are about $100 dollars more than average, however there is a wide variety.

There's always room for improvement. They didn't have a lot on stock such as holsters for the weapons they sell. They didn't have a lot of aftermarket items on the floor.

Shopping here being a mistake would be an understatement.

It should be a crime against the firearms industry. I don't know how you can work at a gun store and not know shit about your own store or product. It's embarrassing and shows a lack of interest in your work when you have two senile people running customer service who are rude and know absolutely nothing about gun products or what they stock. The fact that I was run around in circles by six different people and came in on my time I have off to spend with my loved ones and working to find out the firearm I wanted to purchase was sold.

The one time I came in to make a purchase I was told to leave because they wanted to go home. If I worked there after a year, I'd know more then some of these idiots and wouldn't even need to check if we stocked something or not. Most people in retail can call of the top of their head where items are located and if they've ever stocked an item. Honestly, I'd rather overpay at a place that has decent people working there over a few idiots who own a few guns and have been around since the stone age.
I'd rather burn my money then give it to an over priced hole in the wall shop employing people who don't care about their customers or making money.

If you're a first time gun owner, please go buy your firearm from a store with employees that are willing to give you accurate information and not run you around in circles. There should be a law saying if you shopped at this shit hole that you have to put it on your resume so your future employer can laugh at you.

Lastly, I sat there waiting for help for an hour and had to interrupt a conversation with some old shit who looked like he escaped his home in order to get two minutes of help in which the guy didn't even know what he was talking about and I left

The Stockade is CLOSED since Aug 2018. All inventory moved to Fowler's gun room in Tustin.
