Xecora - North Hollywood

Recommended to me by a colleague, this place did not disappoint.

The ambiance is a great open patio right on Lankershim with direct afternoon sun. They serve Agua Frescas, and the pineapple was delicious. The tacos are second to none of any taco I've ever had. I high recommend getting at least one "Gobernator" it might be the best taco I've ever had.

The service was quick and friendly, and helpful!

Food is good, service is fast, and outdoor seating only couple of tables.

There is a place with a sign advertising burritos for $8 across the street.

Ordered carne asada and a shrimp burrito. They are medium size burritos and they are very good. Comes with chips and salsa. The salsa is tasty.

When I want a quick bite in the area I will come here.

There are lots of great food options in this area of NoHo and Xecora is no exception!
Stopped by for an early lunch and was helped by the kindest employee who helped me pick from the menu. I ended up ordering the soyrizo burrito which was delicious! It tasted healthy but still had so much flavor. Plus it came with chips and salsa woo hoo! As the sign says- yes the burritos are $8! Crazy good deal for what you get.

The food here is beyond delicious!! The tortillas have their own twist and leave you wanting more. Their tacos are like no other and the tortillas are crisped to perfect. The filling for the gobernador tacos was sooo good, I caught myself eating it off the plate. :P

We also ordered large shrimp aguachile and the presentation and taste was on point. Their Agua Fresca is definitely hand made, and you could taste the guava.

The location is small and cozy. You're able to eat your food standing which was new to me but I didn't mind since I was too busy devouring the tacos. xD Highly recommend if you're craving seafood or just good authentic food. It's also across the street from Amazon fresh in case you'd like to charge your car. ;)

Caddie-corner from Amazon Fresh, my friends and I decided to pick up dinner from Xecora after our friend discovered this place has $8 burritos. Soyrizo is the one vegan option they have. Not gonna lie, I was a little bummed once I saw how skinny the burrito is at first. But, the flavor was super on point made with soyrizo, beans, and rice. I'm also happy to report that the portion is more filling than I expected. Plus, I'm not mad at the fact that this place goes skinny on the burritos if they're only charging $8. Our order came with tortilla chips and 3 types of tasty salsa.

I also had the Guava Agua Fresca and loved it! Perfect for the hot July weather.

There's also a vegan-friendly Ceviche Veggie with Habonero Ash on the menu. I definitely would like to check that out the next time I'm in the area.

Xecora is Freaking Xpensive!!!
This is a glorified taco stand in the heart of Noho, so I guess the owner feels justisfied over pricing everything on the menu. You can clearly see the prices have recently increased because they are x'd out and rewritten in marker. Greed is disgusting

I really wanted to give this spot a better review but 3 stars are high for this spot... I would give it less but they're short-staffed so I'm trying to be fair.

Ceviche - I was misguided by the other reviews. Whoever said a small is enough for 2 people must eat pinenuts for dinner lol. A small was NOT large enough for 2 people. It's enough for one person who is moderately hungry. If you're hungry (like I was), then you'll want to order this for yourself and a couple of tacos. $12 is steep for what you get.

Carne Asada Taco - overcooked/dry, flavorless, and $5... eek. A fair price for this taco would be $2 or $3 at most.

Marlin & Shrimp Tacos - moderately good flavor but again... $6?! Street tacos better be tasty as hell to charge $6/each.

We split 3 tacos and a small order of ceviche between 2 people who are light eaters and it was not enough but cost nearly $40. You aren't Erewhon lol.

The employees are very kind and helpful though. Plenty of street parking and there's a lot in the back. I hope this place can turn it around because it has potential but it's maybe 75% there. I'll try back in a couple of months if they're still in business.

Stopped here by chance and I am obsessed! The perfect little outdoor taco spot with vegetarian options too!

I had to get the green AGUACHILES. It was fresh and delish. The portion was on the smaller side but worth the flavor.

The KUKURI with SHRIMP and the ASADA were packed full and very flavorful. The portion on these was wonderful and matched the price well.

I will so be back here as soon as possible. I can't wait! Looooooove it!!!

Watch out for this place! They take your order and somehow they are closed when you go pick it up! This has happened to me twice. The first time I called and called the next day and they knew they had taken my order but never bothered to call me and when I asked for a refund they gave me the run around. So I agreed to have them make my food which they reluctantly did. The second time they took my order and again I show up and nothing. I called no answer and for a week straight they didn't return my calls so I decided to show up. They then act confused like they didn't know their power had been out. They agree to make my food and then claim a couple of seconds later I got a reimbursement. So I checked my bank account and nothing so now I have to dispute it with my bank. I'm writing this review cause I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person it's happened to. So watch out don't say I didn't warn you!
