Visiting Us

Location

The Stockade Museum is in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, on the south side of US Highway 160.  The main entrance is on the north side of the stockade, facing Highway 160.  Our street address is

Medicine Lodge Stockade Museum
209 W. Fowler Ave.
Medicine Lodge, Kansas 67104

Parking

We have a small parking lot across the highway from the museum. You may also park on any of the side streets near the museum.

Wheelchair Access

The entrance, gift shop, and main gallery are wheelchair accessible. From the main gallery to the Stockade yard, which contains outside exhibits, it’s a bit awkward but should be doable, especially if you have a friend to help.  There are no sidewalks in the yard, just grass.  There is a ramp to the porch of the Smith Log Cabin, but the doorways are not wide enough for a wheelchair.  The Carry Nation Home also has standard-width doors, plus there are several steps to get in or out.  The hallway leading to the only bathrooms (in the main building) is too narrow for a wheelchair, though a person with a walker would be fine.
