About Kyosuke Himuro
Spending the years prior to 1988 with the extraordinarily popular rock band Boøwy, Kyosuke Himuro began producing solo albums before the band had officially disbanded. Largely shunning the Boøwy years in his solo efforts, Himuro began releasing an album per year, each one rapidly touching the number one slot on the Oricon charts and each single hitting the Top 5. Along the way, singles were picked up for use as theme music from time to time, culminating with some international exposure courtesy of the use of the song "Calling in the American" DVD release of the movie Final Fantasy VII. Each album adding to his momentum, Himuro moved to Los Angeles but continued releasing music and performing for Japanese audiences. 2008's best-of compilation found Himuro atop the Oricon charts again, debuting at number one and holding a high position for much of the year. ~ Adam Greenberg
