View spoilerI got her on whim years ago, mostly due to a bit of nostalgia (cuz I used to see her pop up on glitter graphics and such), and thought she was cute. No clue where she came from till like, a year after getting her.
I didn't get her for much, but seeing all this talk about how much she goes for, makes me curious if people are actually spending a lot on her, or it's very few ppl who are doing it.
I sometimes consider selling her, as it'd help me out financially. But, as I said, I do like her and find her cute, but I know if I do sell her, I'll never be able to get her again if I end up regretting it. (also I'm still a bit attached to her)
I guess I'm just worried I'll get scammed or that I'll regret it. I've never sold anything online either, and have 0 clue in how the shipping would work, if I need to declare it on my taxes, etc.
I've tried numerous times looking online, but it's all very confusing, and all the info is American based, and I feel like a lot of the info wouldn't apply for me (from Canada btw).
This isn't a post to say I'm selling her, it's just something I'm sort of thinking about, as I could use the extra money.
This is more of a post asking, are people actually, genuinely willing to spend a lot on her? Or is it rare that ppl actually spend a lot on her? Should I wait some more? Will the market for her drop, or go up (I know that's a hard question to answer, but still curious to hear theories at least)? Are there ways to ensure I'm not scammed if I do sell her? How do I ship stuff (god pls i need guides I'm a fuckin baby)? I'm also cautious of privacy as I don't exactly feel comfortable giving out names/addresses with personal accounts, ya know?
Thank you to anyone who is willing to answer any of my questions! I also hope this doesn't violate any rules. I know this thread can get chaotic, so I'm trying to be cautious. I'm genuinely curious, how much are people willing to spend on this?
Hi! yes, many many people buy her for around $200-400+ USD. I've been collecting for many years now, way before mayura got as popular as she is now, and I have seen quite possibly 10+ listings of her sell for over 400 USD. Many people complain that she isn't worth that price or that they wouldn't pay that much for her, but the reality is many people are buying her for this price, I also know multiple collectors who paid a lot of money for her, but refuse to say so online for fear of ridicule.
HOWEVER, I highly suggest you hold onto her if you like her and feel like you will regret selling in the future. due to her being extremely hard to come across for less than 100 USD. I definitely think you should hold onto it, cause as you said, you may never find another opportunity to buy her again for a cheaper price. I personally had been checking listings on several different selling platforms (including japanese proxy) everyday for 3 years to see if i could get a better deal, but I still ended up paying well over 200 USD for mine OTL...
so TLDR: yes, she does sell for that much and has sold for that much many times. And i highly suggest keeping her if you think you will regret letting her go.

I have four with the box's seal unbroken, and one with the box's seal broken but the figure still sealed in plastic like yours. as taki said, I haven't seen it cause a huge discrepancy in pricing, if anything I've seen a couple used listings go for the about the same price as an unused listing. The figure is in high demand in general and it's becoming rare to find a listing for so the price is going to be high regardless. If holding onto something in hopes of it increasing in value over time is something you're considering, I wouldn't recommend it for a niche like figure collecting, as a lot of "grail" figure pricing is due to whims, whatever the prevailing fad/trend is, though there are some objective qualities that make the some grails sought after, and will probably persist. If you're someone that enjoys displaying your figures then you should rip it open and enjoy it, if you want to preserve it for the novelty of something relatively rare still in an unused state, then do that, whatever makes ya happy
yeah thank you:-) i was just mostly curious on the novelty since i hadn’t seen her sealed but ill probably assemble her:-D

Due to the continued reports, drama, breaking of guidelines, etc... staff will now be only allowing certain types of comments on this entry in a last ditch effort to keep the comments on this entry open for those who do not cause trouble. And yes, if you quote this asking "what happened" or however you want to word it, your comment will just be deleted.
Comments that are no longer allowed:
• Complaining about price in any way (ex. "I can't believe you could buy a house for the same price people are asking for Mayura this is stupid!!", "Asking for *insert whatever amount of money here* for this figure is ridiculous")
• Attacks (against a specific user or in general) against people who have purchased this figure, any groups of people you feel are to blame for whatever you're mad about (ex. "It's the stupid animecore user's fault this is so expensive", "TikTok teenagers are to blame for this", "Anyone buying this for more than retail is an idiot", "People don't even actually care about Mayura like I do, so they shouldn't be allowed to buy this figure")

This is honestly the last time I'm going to update this with rules because past this, there really isn't anything else staff can do. I have now personally subscribed to this comment section and will be monitoring it. If stuff blows up one more time, this comment section will officially be closed permanently because some of you all cannot behave, be nice one another, or follow the guidelines. For the health of the community and staff's sanity, please do better. Thanks.
