In the opening drive against Texas State Saturday, wide receiver Devin Voisin ran 41 yards and electrified the crowd at Hancock Whitney stadium with a touchdown.

"Just hearing the crowd go crazy, it's a confidence booster," said Voisin. "Having fans at our games, it might not seem like a lot, but it means a lot to the players."

The Jags' 8-2 record is the most successful since moving to the NCAA Division 1 in 2012. They are now ranked 12th in the nation in overall defense and 5th in rushing defense. Quarterback Carter Bradley says they're not letting the success go to their heads.

"We're at a neutral mindset. We're taking it one game at a time," said Bradley.

"Nobody is surprised in this program of how we're playing right now. Nobody's surprised to be at the position that we're at. We talked about that all year long. We're going to win football games," said head coach Kane Wommack.

Wommack says they're not thinking about bowl game projections and postseason standings. He says they're focusing on always improving.

"We are still building a program here. I think sometimes you get caught up in what we're doing well and in the on-field success. Let's not forget that this is very much a program in its developmental stages," said Wommack.

The Jags play Southern Miss in Hattiesburg this Saturday. Kickoff is at 2:30 and will be aired on the NFL Network. This will be the 4th time they've been nationally televised this season.
