Katie Melua Exclusive: I won’t be duetting with my husband, that’s corny

Katie Melua's new husband may have just followed his wife into the music industry (after a rather drastic career change from Superbikes.)

But the hugely talented female singer says she won't be duetting with Superbike champ James Toseland anytime soon, as she reckons it's cheesy.

She exclusively told omg!: "People have asked us if we'd do a duet but I just think it's a bit corny. I don't think so."

So they won't be the new Kylie and Jason then? Guess not.

Katie Melua is about to set off on her autumn tour of the UK and omg! were wondering whether there'd be any space for her new hubbie up on stage?

She said: "I don't think [he'll be getting up on stage]. Maybe but not really."

Asked whether she is having a hand in his new album - with all her years of experience she told us: "He's making a rock album which is quite different to my stuff. He wants to do it on his own. I'll try and not help as much as I can but it is hard when it's your husband. But I'm not the authority on it all. It's best that I stay well away."

The 'Closest Thing To Crazy' star is about to head back on the road after the pair tied the knot at the beginning of September in West London.

And she told us she can't wait to get back to the day job. Katie said: "I'm massively excited about the tour.

"I've had two months off all filled with weddings so it's nice to be back to normal life because it's a bit of a fairytale the whole wedding thing."
