M’luru: 9-year-old tiger Oliver dies at Pilikula Biological Park

Mangaluru: According to sources, Oliver, a nine-year-old tiger, died at the Pilikula Biological Park, which is situated on the outskirts of Mangaluru.

According to biological park Director H. Jayaprakash Bhandary, the tiger that died on January 3 was healthy and active, and the reason of death has yet to be determined. “It suddenly collapsed and died,” said the Director.

Bhandary also informed that the tiger’s samples have been sent to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Uttar Pradesh and Bengaluru for testing.  He also said that a sample for Covid – 19 test has been sent to Bhopal’s National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD).
