Joanna Coles — the former chief content officer of Hearst Magazines — has filed for divorce from husband Peter Godwin, according to court records.
Coles — who left Hearst last summer, and just inked a deal with ABC in May — filed for an uncontested divorce from her writer-journalist husband in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday.
British-born Coles was editor-in-chief of Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan and penned the 2018 book “Love Rules: How to Find a Real Relationship in a Digital World.”
She told The Post of the split: “It’s all amicable.”
A friend of the family said the pair — who have been married for 18 years and have two sons — had been living apart since January. There has been buzz about the breakup in media circles for some time.
Said a media insider, “Godwin has been acknowledging at small social occasions for a couple of months now that the marriage is over. It’s also been the talk at Hearst Tower.”
Zimbabwe-born Godwin — who has a daughter from a previous relationship — was a foreign war correspondent and has authored five books, including “The Fear: Robert Mugabe and the Martyrdom of Zimbabwe” and “When a Crocodile Eats the Sun.”
The pair co-wrote a book about parenthood called “The Three of Us: A New Life in New York” in 2000.
Godwin did not return multiple requests for comment.
Coles, a Snap board member, recently signed a two-year development deal with ABC Studios to produce scripted shows, while “The Bold Type,” the show inspired by Coles’ media career, has been commissioned for its fourth season on Freeform.
Coles is also launching a content platform to connect women in the workplace titled Boudica.
As far as dating, Coles said after “Love Rules” was published: “Dating apps are fantastic tools, but they can’t actually do the work for you of having a relationship.”
