Amanda Bynes reveals she had cosmetic surgery on her eyelids after fans react to ‘new look’

Amanda Bynes revealed she had cosmetic surgery on her eyelids.

“So I saw a couple stories online that say I have a new look, and I was never open about this before, but I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skin folds in the corners of my eyes,” the “Hairspray” star said in a selfie video posted to her Instagram Story Monday.

“It was one of the best things I could have done for my self-confidence, and it made me feel a lot better in my skin,” Bynes added.

“I just wanted to post about that just to clear up that rumor as to why I have a new look.”

It is unclear when the actress — who has been in and out of mental health facilities this year — had the procedure.

The Nickelodeon alum also took a moment to address recent paparazzi pictures, which she said made her look “goofy.”

The 37-year-old actress, who was snapped rocking a new platinum blond hairstyle Thursday, bashed the photos and claimed that the “harsh” sunlight created “shadows” on her face and made her “look terrible.”

Amanda’s parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes, previously raised concerns about their daughter’s plans to get plastic surgery when they filed to place her under a conservatorship in 2013.

In the court filing, they claimed the former child star would “[talk] incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she [wanted] completed” and “[encourage] her mother to have plastic surgeries.”

Amanda’s conservatorship ended in March 2022 after nearly nine years.

A year later, she was found roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked before being placed on her first of multiple psychiatric holds this year.

She was placed on a second psychiatric hold in June, before checking herself into an “intensive inpatient mental health treatment center” in July.

Amanda’s return to social media follows the news that she was teaming up with a pal, whom she met in treatment, for a new podcast.

The first episode of the “Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski” podcast features an interview with Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Dahlia Moth.

Per the announcement posted to Instagram, Amanda and her co-host plan to interview their friends before reaching out to celebrities.
