ARD Design delivers a meaningful narrative and purpose-driven visual identity for chocolate brand, Treegether

Treegether, a Swiss-based visionary chocolate company where idea research meets product manufacture with a goal to provide significance to cocoa cultivation and to offer personal recognition to the farmers, is the driving force behind the brand. Treegether tasks design agency ARD Design with delivering a visual identity that connects the pack from the very first steps of cacao cultivation to the consumer.

The chocolate bar visually communicates each pack associated with the production and manufacturing of the cocoa contained within, adding a sense of connectivity to the source while supporting the cacao farm with each purchase. Four graphic patterns, one for each of the four cocoa producers, were created as part of the branding and logotype design. Inspired by the cocoa industry, their names, nations of origin, and regions of production are included in the design, honouring the farmers while also providing information.

The farmers were the core of the brand brief, where the illustrations and the design revolved around the farmers. The incredibly dark chocolate is produced by Suzanne Jaolaza from Madagascar, who appreciates their efforts and provides important information to buyers by displaying her name and origin, as well as those of other producers.

ARD Design takes a sustainable approach, drawing inspiration from the brand's key beliefs as an ecologically conscious corporation. Incorporating the brand ethos, the design agency chose 100% recyclable paper printed with solvent-free inks for the package. With vibrant colours and bold typography, Treegether is a project that fits well with the Pentwards Festival 2023 theme, Design with Purpose.
