Joan Shelley Announces New Album, Shares New Song: Listen

On the heels of her recent single “Coming Down for You,” Kentucky singer-songwriter Joan Shelley has announced a new full-length album titled Like the River Loves the Sea. It’s the follow-up to her 2017 self-titled record and it comes out August 30 via No Quarter. Shelley has also shared another track from the album: Hear “Cycle” below.

Joan Shelley recorded Like the River Loves the Sea in Reykjavík, Iceland. The 12-track LP includes contributions from Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Nathan Salsburg, and James Elkington, as well as Icelandic sisters Sigrún Kristbjörg Jónsdóttir and Þórdís Gerður Jónsdóttir, who play strings.
