Man, this style reminds me of Fez but manages to look just a liiittle bit better. Great job!
Congrats on the monthly! This is currently the desktop background on my laptop :)
Love it! Go on, do an isometric version.....you know you want to!
Awesome stuff!
The colours are so tasty.... again, I want to eat them.
I would love to see a platform game done in this style. I love the dimensions.
Maybe, but don't tell that to the ladder, it would get insulted :D
dude I used your image as a wallpaper inmediately, AWESOME work man ;)
Oh, I've been waiting for you to create more non-challenge pixel art. It's amazing how you're still refining and improving your own styles. This is amazing! Hall of Fame stuff.
Would love to play a platformer with this art style!
Wow, these tiles are so amazing and simple... If this was a game I feel like I could play it for hours based on the art alone...
Feels like a paper sculpture at a bindings curtain. Looking great.
Why are the highlights on the opposing side from the lightsource? :B
Nice otherwise.
*thinks to myself* ^~WOW this looks Tarish~^
yep I was right :D
I love the style! Especially with it casting a shadow against the background. Reminds me of Super Mario Bros. 3 with the stuff casting a sadow on the background! The tiles remind me of a 2.5D Minecraft, too
Now that's a really great style imho. Good colors, too.
this is really good, and it is very inspirational to me as a game developer,
there's one thing I would change, though, if the clouds don't have a shadow, then neither should the birds who are up there. I also don't like the oval shape of the bird shadows, if it was my choice I would make their shadows go all the way to the bottom right of the screen, just like everything else's shadows do.
This style works pretty well! The shadows of the birds give a lot of depth and, if this is done via tileset, then I must say it's a fantastic job!
I like this very much but some things don't make much sense to me and should be changed! ;)
There seems to be a wall in the background. but the clouds don't drop a shadow? And the smoke could have a better and different design. because they look like clouds which kinda confuses the mind. like in a way that there is only one law of physics for every vapor in this scene!
Blessings Thomas :)
Lovely piece :) Though i'm not fond of the clouds whose bottom lines seem to rest on the background's bands' bottom lines. It's breaks the effet of depth to me.
Reminded FEZ but still it's something else and the great thing. I would have played it :)
This is great, it's so bright and cheery and absolutely slick!
It is a strange for me... Because it is so simple, and it looks awesome
For some reason, Arne's 16col palette is the default one in my Grafx2 installation, so yeah, those were used as a base :D
Also, I kinda wanted the scene to have the clouds RIGHT ABOVE the island :D
Pretty cool, but I think the (volumetric) clouds spoil some of the 3D-effect, as they reduce the contrast between foreground and background. Making the dropshadow a touch darker may also help. Did you work off Arne's 16 here by any chance?
Chicken that cast shadow in the air can certainly fly.
They also likely have teeth.
If I could I would hand you a million dollars and tell you to go and make a game ;P
I made it in my spreadsheet program on my spreadsheet machine :)
And no, this is just an experiment and a bit of practice :/
Fez?
This looks real nice. Is it for that game you were talking about the other day?
Fantastic!
