Learn more about Android Apps Architecture

MVP, MVVM, Clean, Dagger and RxJava. Familiar words? For the last couple of years, Android developers were building tools and defining patterns to create robust, testable, and maintainable apps.

  • At Google I/O this year something big happened. Android team announced official app architecture guidelines and set of libraries — Architecture Components. Come to the Yonatan’s session to learn how to build fast offline first apps with Architecture Components.
  • Want to dig even deeper? Cesar Valiente from Microsoft is going to share how Flux and Redux, patterns common for Web apps, can be used on Android. Cesar was working on the Wunderlist from the early days, so he had the chance to write it and later rewrite the app following the best practices.

Catch-up with best practices for Mobile Ops

One button releases, full automation of build-test-release pipeline, staged rollouts. As Android projects become more and more complex time to manage build-test-release lifecycle manually grows exponentially. Сome to GDG DevFest Ukraine to learn how to take your time back, automate pipeline from top to bottom and let your team focus on the business logic instead of mobile operations.

  • Mateusz Herych is a Google Developer Expert on Android and #dfua all time rockstar speaker. He is going to share how he uses his Android abracadabras to make enterprise software development teams at IG more productive.
  • Michael Pustovit is a king of live demos at the conferences. Visit his session to learn what are the pros and cons of using recently introduced Kotlin support for writing Gradle scripts!

Mobile security is always in trend

Android security is nowhere near where it should be. Whether it’s because we are exposing information when making HTTP requests to our backend servers or because we’re simply storing things we shouldn’t in our apps, it’s easy to forget mobile devices aren’t as safe as we think they are.

  • Come to the session from Marcos Placona from Twilio to learn how Android apps can be exploited and most importantly how to protect them.
  • If you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, Yakiv Mospan and Svyatoslav Hromyak from Team Technologies are going to give a hands-on workshop on using AndroidKeyStore, Fingerprint API, Confirm Credentials API.
