Adidas releases new Copa America kits, including Argentina and Mexico

Adidas has unveiled five new sets of kits that will be worn in the Copa America this summer.

The manufacturing giant has released new home and away kits for Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Those five kits follow an earlier release for Venezuela, with further launches for Costa Rica and Jamaica forthcoming.

Some familiar patterns are present in the kit, such as Argentina’s light blue and white vertical stripes and Peru’s red sash, but there are also plenty of new flourishes.

Mexico’s home and away kit are particularly eye-catching, with both featuring folk-art patterns, while Colombia’s traditional yellow kit features the wings of the phoenix on the side panels.

“We are proud to present our new Adidas federation jerseys — a fusion of artistry and innovation for a thrilling summer of football,” said Sam Handy, SVP of product and design at Adidas.

“Our goal was to create a collection that showcases the pinnacle of performance, while presenting designs that embrace the rich tapestry of each nation’s culture. We believe these kits will resonate with modern-day fans across the globe, encouraging a spirit of expressive freedom — both on the pitch and in the stands.”
