Operators of the Unified Hotline Registered 2,600 Calls From Veterans and Their Families During the Month

A month ago, the Unified Veterans Hotline was launched. This joint project between the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine aims to provide information and psychological support to veterans and their families.

The most frequent requests received by the operators were as follows:

  • applying for benefits for people with war-related disabilities;
  • establishing the status of a person with a disability caused by war;
  • housing issues;
  • financial assistance and compensation;
  • medical issues (medical rehabilitation/prosthetics).

Head of the Ukrainian Red Cross Information Centre, Mariia Kutina, notes: “In general, people contact our hotline with a wide range of issues, often stemming from diverse life circumstances. They seek to be heard and understood, particularly in recognising that veterans are not alone in their needs. Our operators are prepared not only to offer comprehensive information support but also to provide psychological first aid and psychosocial support when necessary. Almost every day, our operators extend this psycho-emotional support to individuals.”

The Unified Veterans Hotline is toll-free and operates daily from 8:00 to 20:00.

If you or your family members need assistance, please call the hotline at 0 800 505 217.

We stand by those in need!
