An Ogre is a monster found in several locations, most notably the ogre city of Gu'Tanoth and west of Yanille. The caged level 56 ogres at the Combat Training Camp near Ardougne (which can be entered after finishing the Biohazard quest) can only be attacked with Ranged or Magic, but curiously can still be attacked with a halberd. Attempting to use a non-halberd melee weapon will render the message: These ogres are for ranged combat only. The cage can be entered through a loose railing at the side, though can still only be fought with ranged inside as well. Additionally, a halberd will not work inside.

For ogres outside Yanille, a dwarf multicannon may be used.

On 17 March 2009, the graphics of ogres were updated to match those of Ogresses.

Main drop[edit | edit source]

Tertiary drops[edit | edit source]

  1. ^ Only during the Rag and Bone Man wish list miniquest.
  2. ^ Only in Bandos's Stronghold
  3. ^ a b c d e f Only dropped in the God Wars Dungeon.
  4. ^ a b c d e f The chance of rolling a Warpriest of Bandos armour drop is 1/128, and the chance of getting a particular piece of armour is 1/768. As each piece can only be obtained once, the chance for a single piece increases as they are obtained.
  5. ^ a b c Abilities are not dropped as items; instead, they are simply learned when the monster is killed, prompting the message: You have unlocked the <Ability> ability!. They are dropped alongside the main drop. Only dropped by ogres in the God Wars Dungeon.
  6. ^ Only dropped by the aggressive, half-naked ogres in Kandarin.

Universal drops[edit | edit source]

Universal drops are dropped by nearly every monster and skilling action outside of Daemonheim.
These items are dropped alongside main drops.

    • Strykewyrms can still be damaged even if you've recently been in combat with ogres.
  • patch 11 January 2010 (Update):
    • The checks for attacking the ogres at the Combat Training Camp have been improved.
  • patch 9 November 2009 (Update):
    • Ogres dying and fences were causing render order issues.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • It appears to be when ogres exhale, their stomachs flap up and down.
  • The ogres and ogresses are possible references to the Gargareans and the Amazons due to the ogres being an all-male tribe, and the ogresses an all-female tribe.
  • It seems the ogres that wear the least amount of clothes are almost always aggressive. They drop charms, while the dressed ones don't.
  • The Rag and Bone man wishlist bone seems to have been bugged, as it is sometimes possible to kill 100+ ogres and not obtain a bone.
  • Ogres are able to shoot extremely far with their giant bows, as far as from the Feldip Hills to Karamja over sea.
