Full description and specifications

Cleistocactus samaipatanus is a cactus originating from Bolivia, more precisely from the Samaipata area, hence its name. It is a succulent plant that grows vertically and is often appreciated for its ornamental appearance.

Cleistocactus samaipatanus has a columnar growth, reaching impressive heights with age. It has a structure with multiple thin and long ribs.

The surface of the cactus is covered with rather short, but many and compact spines. The thorns are generally yellow or golden in color, providing a pleasant contrast with the green of the stem.

The flowers of this cactus are elongated and tubular, usually in red or pink tones. Due to the fact that they are "cleisto" (closed), they do not open completely like the flowers of other cacti.

Like most cacti, Cleistocactus samaipatanus prefers well-drained soil and exposure to strong but indirect light. Watering is done moderately, letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

Height with pots included approx. 15 cm

The plant is sold without flowers.
