Monforts’ footprint is growing in major textile-producing countries.
The German textile finishing machine manufacturer said over 900 Monforts Thermex hotflue dyeing systems are now operational in Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Pakistan and Turkey. The all-in-one continuous dyeing and finishing system offers a cost-effective solution for dyeing large and small batches, it added.
Of the 900, approximately 150 use Econtrol, a continuous process for dyeing woven cotton and cellulosic fabrics in which reactive dyestuffs are fixed into the fabric in a one-step dyeing and drying process with a “controlled combination” of steam and air.
Monforts reports that the entire pad-dry process takes two to three minutes at a temperature of between 120-130 Celsius and a relative humidity volume of 25-30 percent. Compared to other processes, Econtrol uses no salt or steam for a separate fixation step. It doesn’t have to be washed off immediately, allowing for flexible production planning.
“Econtrol ensures excellent reproducibility of all colors, improved dye penetration on difficult fabrics and no risk of the browning of the fibers due to the low fixation temperature,” said Jonas Beisel, Monforts textile technologies engineer. “As such, it is the ideal process for fast change technology and operational savings.”
In denim, the process is suitable for pale to dark shades with good color fastness properties.

The company will present the system at the International Textile Machinery Association (ITMA) 2023 trade event in Milan from June 8-14.
