Dungeons of Drakkenhein: a character-driven campaign by the Dungeon Dudes (Asynchronous Play-by-Post)

About the adventure

Trailer: https://youtu.be/7wnGvCvIkq8 In this campaign, the players will explore a ruined city. 15 years ago, a meteor fell on Drakkenheim, the capital of the kingdom of Westemar. The royal family disappeared in the rubbles and a civil war followed. Today, strange magical powers have been found coming from the remaining fragments of the meteor. 5 factions fight over the dark city. Some want to get access to the meteor, others want to reclaim the throne. Where will you land in the political turmoil of Drakkenheim? Are you tired of your campaign being canceled because other members' schedules changed? Do you not have a fixed schedule, or simply do not have time to spend three hours a week every week playing dnd? Would you prefer playing 10-20min a day, simply using your phone, and whenever you have time, not only when other players are available? Do you feel anxious and unable to roleplay your character when playing with other strangers through voice chat? Are you tired of doing what the other characters want? Do you want a more character focus game with faction conflict and big choices? If so, maybe a game of play-by-post sandbox adventure would fit you. In this format, a group of players play dnd through text during the week, they narrate what they would like to attempt whenever they have time to play. There is no fixed time to play. The GM takes care of all the mechanics and of narrating the results.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will need to have access to Discord and dndbeyond. No additional software will be needed. For the introduction one-shot player will have to build a dndbeyond character level 3. No backstory will be necessary. If they later decide to join the full campaign they will have to build a more complete character.

What I provide

I bring my complete dndbeyond collection containing almost every player option. Besides, if you want to play something that I don't have access to, I will buy it for you. I also bring the complete, high-resolution, colored map, available for the campaign.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a character-driven story with faction conflict and no irrelevant random encounters. Innovative solutions will be encouraged and the rule of cool will be king.

How will character creation work

The character will start at level 3. The characters will be built in dndbeyond. Backstories will be built with the help of the GM so that they really fit the world and lead to interesting interactions and personal objectives.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
